CEO of tech company gets caught cheating at Coldplay gig.

Trying to work out if the most embarrassing thing is being caught with the office ****, or being at a Coldplay gig

Yep,

Where I work all the software devs are kinda like "meh" towards the corporate culture. But HR and Marketing are constantly high on the corporate kool-aid.

That's understandable as it's HR staff who are probably made accountable for delivering that corporate culture.

In other ways their position is like that of any other expert, trying to make sure the company and workforce operate within the law and follow appropriate policies.

I used to think kiss cams are corny as hell, but I'm all for it if they catch cheaters live in 4k

seems weird to go a concert when your cheating, but I guess the tickets were freebies for the company lol..... I'm guessing it's far worse if they were corporate tickets donated to the company and the CEO uses them to take another worker on a date...

There are some great memes from it, but overall it’s a sad reflection on the state of society.

This behaviour is widespread, and I’ve seen some good colleagues throw their lives away for a woman who, it turns out, doesn’t actually want to spend her life with them once it all comes out.

It's often people I'd never have expected, either.

One place I worked it was rife the first few years I was there - I can't even scratch the surface of it without a very long post - all kinds of sordid things going on with people cheating on one another - a really messy web.

This got to be the best one yet :p

Seems to have largely died a death since covid, must be a casualty of the working from home culture. There was always shannanigans going on in the past, worst I know of was a guy having 3 separate women on the go at the same time, behind his missus back and geting two of them pregnant in quick succession. That stationary room was never looked at the same again.

Producing four new singles in one night must be a record for any band, no?

Honestly fantastic, well done.

He's been suspended now.

I think it's all quite tiresome this. None of anyone's business and an invasion of privacy.

You would have to be in private, not at a public venue with 50,000 people for it to be invasion of privacy lol.

Yeah, there's been other viral clips of people caught looking visibly awkward on "kiss cams" etc, at sports games in the US. Having a big screen and a camera capturing crowd reactions is very common at large events of that size over there.

I think once it's public and linked to the company then it does become a work issue as there is reputational damage to the CEO & head of HR, they no doubt have various policies in place regarding both bringing negative publicity to the company and regarding workplace relationships and if they've just been seen to potentially violate those then it's very iffy.

Imagine the HR in that company in the future trying to discipline some other employee for either negative publicity via social media or for some inappropriate relationship (some late 20s team lead shagging a young intern who reports to him, etc). If they've publicly violated the standards they hope to hold others too, then that's a serious leadership failing. Fortunately, he's an appointed CEO, he's not a founder, so it's far simpler to get rid of him if the board wishes to*, rather than if he were a founder with significant equity/control.

*edit - given Kelt's post above I presume they did in fact want him out and he was offered the opportunity to resign.
