CEO of tech company gets caught cheating at Coldplay gig.

Seems to have largely died a death since covid, must be a casualty of the working from home culture. There was always shannanigans going on in the past, worst I know of was a guy having 3 separate women on the go at the same time, behind his missus back and geting two of them pregnant in quick succession. That stationary room was never looked at the same again.

Only aware of one instance involving stuff at work itself though no doubt more went on. My team went clubbing one night and one guy, who mysteriously was promoted 3 times in his first year, disappeared middle of the night, earlier had been seen with his tongue down the throat of some girl out on a hen do so people assumed that is where he disappeared to. Next day tells us if his wife (wasn't actually married at that point) asks he fell asleep in the nightclub toilets until they kicked him out at 6am. Turns out he and a women in senior management sneaked back into work to use the conference room table... she was married and he was in a long term relationship and I later went to his wedding - that one ended messily when she realised he wasn't going to leave his partner for her when the wedding came about.

She supposedly once slept with her daughter’s boyfriend, while her daughter was passed out drunk in the same room, the boyfriend worked for us and the daughter was a temp one year... not sure if that is true but that is what he put about after they broke up and with everything else that went on I suspect it to be true. The daughter then went on to have an affair with his best mate who also worked for us while the best mate was in a relationship, and had kids with, the sister of another girl who worked for us.

And that is just scratching the surface of it, some of their poor kids probably should take DNA tests before dating locally :s

I got a headache after reading this... What on earth. Are we even surprised at this point anymore?

I'm not even scratching the surface of how sordid it got - over the first couple of years or so after I started there was was about 12 of them who had stuff going on, including overlapping affairs, and I probably don't even know half of it. Quite a lot came out in the longer run and while some of it might be made up or embellished by people trying to get back at each other a good amount of it I know enough to know is true.

EDIT: Anyone local would probably be completely unsurprised that most of them lived in Chard or Martock :s

Did you work in a swingers club by any chance?

Whilst I don’t agree with the cheating, you can’t help but feel for all involved. The partners of the cheaters’ lives have been thrust into the public eye, they’ll no doubt be getting harassed off idiots, need to move house, shield the kids, delete social media etc.

People are going in hard on this, even on LinkedIn which is normally reserved for the tame and professional attention seekers.
I guess the wife could sue the media, not like the UK.

How does such a relatively mundane event become so viral

Weak sauce.
Lots of reasons

The well timed comment from chris martin
The fact it's the typical ceo with someone who is his basically his direct report (Really breaking stereotypes here...)
Their reactions to it
Their linked ins pouring more fuel on the fire

It's basically just a perfect storm of lots of aligning pieces.

Can someone please explain to a numpty what the company actually does? It all seems like a massive grift with typical linkedin buzz words. Are all these "tech" companies a bit like the .com bubble of the turn of the millennium?

We are the company behind Astro, the industry-leading data orchestration and observability platform powered by Apache Airflow®. Astro accelerates building reliable data products that unlock insights, unleash AI value, and power data-driven applications.

What does that even mean?
