not as lot of people know that

Only ~43% of the cells in your body are human, the remaining 57% are made up of bacteria, viruses, fungi and archaea.

Doctors hate this one simple trick to lose half your body weight…

The modern word cliche is derived from the perceived sound printing presses made. Stereotype is the name of the clay impression used to cast moveable type page a permanent one for popular printings.

Not a lot of people know that.
Love these examples, the english language is filled to the brim of words with hidden context/meaning or just straight up repurposed, its quite maluable language, does make you think.

Not a lot of people know that decent steel is actually stronger than titanium. Titanium is used in aerospace/etc because it's stronger than aluminium while still lighter than steel.

Not a lot of people know that "blood is thicker than water" is shortened from "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" and it loosely means that the family you choose is more important than the one you are born into (essentially the opposite of what people these days use the phrase to symbolise).

Not a lot of people know that the USA uses the imperial systems not the imperial system. While most of their measurements are British their gallons are French and so only equal to 3.6 litres (as opposed to the 4.5 litres of British gallons). This is why their Petrol seems ridiculously cheap when in reality it's 82p a litre on average (still cheap compared to here but not as ridiculous as it first appears).

Lobsters don't die of old age. In most cases of cell division, the bits at the end of chromosomes, called telomeres, are replicated imperfectly and are less effective at protecting DNA. Lobsters, on the other hand, have a special enzyme called telomerase, which ensures the telomeres remain intact and working just as effectively. Their cells never enter what's called senescence, which is basically biological ageing. They can still die from other causes, of course; exhaustion, predation or disease. Not as good as the live forever jellyfish, but still impressive.

There is a thriving and lucrative market in unirradiated Steel, usually from shipwrecks prior to the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-background_steel

So far...

We definitely don't have hurricanes, they're tropical storms which form over warm oceans.

Tornados do happen in the UK, but are often just funnel clouds. The distinction being whether they touch the ground or not.
I recall someone else said that once.

TV weather presenter Michael Fish will long be remembered for telling viewers there would be no hurricane on the evening before the storm struck. He was unlucky, however, as he was talking about a different storm system over the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean that day. This storm, he said, would not reach the British Isles - and it didn't. It was the rapidly deepening depression from the Bay of Biscay which struck. This storm wasn't officially a hurricane as it did not originate in the tropics - but it was certainly exceptional.
