Are Chavs/Charvas actually more likely to be dangerous compared to other groups of people (ie Goths/Nerds etc)?

First post! I'm bored, turned 18 a few months ago, and this is something I've been curious about. At least where I live, Chav/Charva culture (the original word is "Charva", "Chav" is the shortened form of it) is becoming trendy again (just search "Charva" on TikTok) and I have a crush on this guy who is one. My parents are like "don't you know that type is dangerous". Every Charva/Chav I've met has been really nice to me, at least the guy ones. More than any other subculture. When I was younger the only clique that didn't bully me were the Charvas/Chavs. Yes, tracksuit and baseball hat wearing, gold chain wearing ones. They were a bit rough around the edges initially but they were cool and protected me from the bullies so ever since I've had a soft spot for them.

I was really shocked at how the media (both official and social) demonised them so much. I found some old site from the 2000's where literally everyone on the site was talking about how they wanted all chavs to die. How they're really dangerous (usually citing a case that's years old as proof).

So are they actually more likely to be dangerous compared to other subcultures in my area and I just got lucky, or are they just demonised a lot so it looks that way?

I did not know charva was also a term for them... Every day's a school day.
Yeah the original word is charva, which has apparently been around since the 80s. Then in the late 90s or mid 2000s it got shortened into "chav" which most areas used

Do people even still call them chavs? I thought they were mostly called scals, scruffs, and rats now? Or is that just the Liverpool lingo rubbing off on me?

every generation in every country has there own “cultures” that plan to take over the world and make it a better place..

most of them mellow out over time and settle into society, bringing a little of their culture to evolve modern society..

Explain Charva to someone who doesn't use Tikky Tokky and can't see the answer quickly on Google.

Chav to me is "Council Housed And Violent"

"Charva" is the original word for chav (chav came later). "Chav" is just a shortened version of the word "Charva". "Council Housed And Violent" is a backcronym and chav doesn't actually stand for anything. Chav culture is getting a resurgence starting from around last year and those people proudly call themselves charvas. Like chavs in the 2000's, they still wear tracksuits, baseball caps and gold chains/bracelets. They call people they like "mush", which means mate or friend. I'm more familiar with the slang they use because my older brother happens to be one as well and uses charva slang all the time.

My 12 year old used 'charva' the other day and I was surprised as I'd not heard the word said like that for probably over 20 years.
