I disagree about Alonso and Hamilton. Yes their reaction times and fitness may not be able to keep up with the young guns, but put them in the Mclaren and they would be competing for the title.
Put Piastri and Lando in the Ferrari and they would do no better imo. They would have pockets of good performance mixed with the same bad weekends.

Sodden on track for the F3 race. They're saying it'll start under safety car, but conditions are looking bad enough I'm not convinced there will be any real racing.

We all moan when they don't race in the rain, but this one shouldn't have even started I think.

3 cars out on the formation lap under the safety car, biblical amounts of rain and the spray causing a wall of water and you can't see a thing.

Glad spa will be wet. Bit of a snooze fest in the dry.

On Hamilton and alonso retiring... They probably should as I doubt either will be great again, but they are far from the worst on the grid. There are a fair few more ahead of them in the queue who should retire.

Colapinto has been bad in a bad car. Alpine are laughable really. Gasly is driving so well though.

Hope piastri gets norris into turn 1. But all best bets are off if it's wet. I hope it is

So sick of Croft. He is so annoying. Wish had f1tv!

Agreed. A red flag was inevitable, and the risk to these young drivers too high. Rain has slacked off now and they're going to give it another go.

16 minute race, don't see the point.

Oh, it's been red flagged. The clock continues as well so there's going to be about 8 mins of racing by the time they get back out.

Race abandoned, no points awarded. Might set the theme for the day..

I always thought Hamilton should have walked away from the sport at the end of 2021. Whilst I think Max deserved the title in 2021 over the course of that season, I never felt like he deserved that win at Abu Dhabi after it was essentially set up by Michael Masi for that final lap. For me, if I was Hamilton, that would have been the end of my relationship with the sport.

Alonso should have stuck to his guns with his 2018 retirement.

Hope we get an exciting wet race and they don't call it off.

If it was dry it would have been boring as **** based on the terrible sprint race we had yesterday.

We could see Hamilton and Alonso give it one more year to see how the new regs turn out.

Looking at the weather radar it could well be a dry race. Hope not.

Sprint races have evolved into a bad idea imo, no one wants to break their car when they have qualifying later. Not enough points to make anything much worth a risk.

It doesn’t fit with the Grand Prix being the main event, but you do wonder whether it should be after the main GP. That way no worries about car damage not being fixed in time.

Dunne into the lead of the F2 championship. He's a talented driver, but as a McLaren driver I wonder where he stands a chance of a seat in F1 if he does win?
