Anyone had this?
I'm going away in holiday in Monday so dropped my parcel at depot.

I saw the receptionist scan my parcel and another person's parcel but 1 day later the tracking is still saying "awaiting drop off".

Is this normal? Can't call until Monday to see what's going on.

I was given no paper receipt.

I’ve had similar when I had a delivery picked up from my home address with Parcelforce. Person didn’t bring a label with them (as they should have) took the parcel and gave me a tracking number. It took mine 3 days to update in the system but everything arrived ok!

I'm sure it's OK. It's just weird it was scanned. I heard the beep and same happened to the guy in front of me. Glad I took a pic in the depot of it. Otherwise I'd have no proof I sent it!

No, it is not normal.

It should show up as soon as it has been scanned.

However, I have had parcels only show up on subsequent scans.

That's what I thought. Super strange. As I now have no proof of posting. Except a pic I took in the depot. But won't be easy should it. Go missing. Just hoping it gets scanned on Monday on van!

It will be fine. Happened to me...
Crazy system really.
Especially as you technically have no proof of postage should it go missing.

Not sure why the system doesn't register it as dropped off.

Main issue is buyer is a one of those awkward ones and is asking why I haven't sent it yet.

Parcelforce are just terrible in my experience, I had a notification from them that they had attempted to pick up from me but nobody was home.

Then a few hours later the driver turns up and picked it up, no explination of why the tracking shows there was a failed collection attempt.

The tracking was still showing as failed collection for a couple of days so the recipiant was claiming that it was not sent.

Luckily the tracking updated correctly in the end.

I try to avoid them now, they have done this kind of thing one too many times.

Aah, nuts.
I didn't think to ask and the receptionist was right grumpy.

I heard the scan noise go off and just assumed the tracking would update instantly.

Just glad I took a pic of parcel being taken with label in view.

Sure it's fine as never had an issue with parcelforce. But not ideal.

@413x hopefully that will do, worst case. I do remember the last parcel we sent took a while to show up on tracking but that was going to either Switzerland or the Netherlands, so assumed there was an outward lag.

Being blunt, you shouldn’t have left without it.

/edit - ahh, I see you dropped it off at the depot, but I’ve done that and still had a receipt. Perhaps they’re all not set up to do so.

So maybe they have a human updating the website lol?
On Monday the tracking updated to say the parcel had been dropped off on Saturday morning.

What a strange system.

I think its quite common place for weekends yeah. Cmmon place in terms of zero updates and systems getting shut down, least that is how it seems.

Sent something VIA UPS last year, dropped it off on saturday around 11am for monday delivery, I only got notice of it moving sunday night at like 11pm, got delivered monday 10am.

Evri are the same at drop-offs now. The only receipt they give you, you have to have your email address ready for them at the drop-off. If you don't then if the check in fails for any reason you are screwed.

I was at a Post Office recently and a Royal Mail collection driver was refusing to collect Parcelforce packages as they were too big for his van. They were telling the Post Office worker to contact the senders and get them to collect them and take them to the depot themselves. The depot is like a 40 min drive from where I live.
