AI Overview

Honduras 72% dark chocolate, specifically the "Indio Rojo" variety from Duffy's Chocolate, is a bean-to-bar chocolate made from rare, Honduran cacao beans. It's known for its complex flavor profile with notes of sweet currants, tangy orange, and a lingering aftertaste of coffee and raisins. The chocolate is vegan-friendly and made with organic cane sugar and cocoa butter.

Here's a more detailed look at the Honduras 72% dark chocolate:
  • Origin:
The cacao beans are sourced from Honduras, and specifically from the "Indio Rojo" variety, which are considered rare and difficult to source.
  • Flavor Profile:
It offers a strong, complex, and quality dark chocolate experience. The tasting notes include sweet currants, tangy orange, and a raisin and coffee aftertaste.

  • Production:
Duffy's Chocolate uses a bean-to-bar process, meaning they handle all stages of production from sourcing the beans to creating the finished chocolate bar. The beans are gently roasted and stone-ground to bring out the best flavors.

  • Awards:
This chocolate has received awards, including a silver medal at the International Chocolate Awards 2018 Europe.

  • Other Notable Brands:
Besides Duffy's, other brands like Castronovo Chocolate also offer Honduras 72% dark chocolate, sometimes with different flavor profiles and sourcing. For example, Castronovo's "The Lost City" boasts notes of fruits, nuts, and spice. Another brand, Zoto, offers a "Mayan Red" Honduras 72% dark chocolate.

Was away at the weekend with a couple mates in Tewksbury and stopped in for a curry last night. Given all the chat in here there was only one option in my mind.

Pathia!!

Never had it before and for me, this was way too sweet. My mate reliably informs me that it isn’t normally that way so will try again in the future.

Not pictured was the best keema naan I’ve ever had!
