No thanks. I am not a fan of attending online meetings while driving. It is ridiculous to even think about integrating a product in the car that takes your attention of driving.

If anyone wants this feature desperately, here's my two cents. You can stay at your work place and do endless meetings or work from home. Spare others in the traffic that want to safely reach their homes or destinations. Regardless of the country that allows this feature.

Starting with the all-new CLA, customers will be able to access the latest version of the Meetings for Teams app. It brings enhanced functionality and the ability to use the built-in vehicle camera to participate in Teams calls on the move.

Again, the marketing guys are in charge with more dumb ideas.

Even assuming that you absolutely, positively have to be in a meeting while in the car, why do you need to be on camera? It's not even like you can look at the people on the call that you're talking to whilst you're driving. Just use voice communications like we have done for the past 150+ years. Technology for technology's sake.

So now you can micro-managed from your car. Because work doesn't overreach into life enough.

Someone is really proud of this and probably got paid a lot of money. Idiots. The people important enough to really need to communicate visually on the move will already have a laptop with them in the back seat of the Maybach/S Class or whatever whilst their driver gets them where they need to be.

thought MB were in bed with google for AI gemini too - presumably haven't got an open App install ecosystem though (like android automotive)
and need to have a gravy-train of income from the infotainment, for map/traffic/music ...

You’re missing the point, look at this from the perspective of the other meeting attendees. We’ve all been in boring Teams calls that would have been livened up by seeing the look on someone’s face as they plough into the back of stationary traffic.

And then slow-mo it and upload it to youtube, so everyone can watch their fat face hit the airbag.

I genuinely wish I could say I'm making this up, but this is an actual true story.

Our client has a chap who's a bit, let's just say... different.

He usually joins our weekly ops meetings and he's often in the weirdest of places. He's been in supermarkets, cafes, trains, buses, you name it. I dunno why he does this, just seems to be his thing. Anyway, we're all on a call one day and he's literally been dialled in to Teams for over an hour, occasionally having a little say. His camera was off so we couldn't see him and he wasn't in the office. We all assumed he was just working from home.

Until he walks in to the office with a motorcycle helmet on, sits down and takes it off, and continues the meeting face to face. Turns out he'd bought a bike the weekend before and all the toys, including a blutooth headset, and was participating in our meeting whilst doing 60mph on his way to work.

Like I said, he's a bit... different.
