Everyone with a semi-wet setup in the dry (high downforce) and trying to make the mediums last till the end could make for a very boring race. Less potential chances for overspeed with the DRS.

Russell is proving it behind Max.

Remember though, the Hard this weekend is offset and one tyre compound higher above the medium. Normally is a sequential set of compounds but they skipped one for the Hards for the first time for this race.
That’s interesting. Because I was going to say how whenever we compare mediums to hards — everyone says the hards should last a lot longer but then they just… don’t.

I suppose it depends what compund the "hard" is race to race - I'd except a C5 to last a lot longer than a C1

Was expecting Piastri to push for a bit more of a gap and aim to pit around 30-32 but it doesn't seem like they're going for that, so maybe they're half expecting rain and don't think it's sensible to try and squeeze an extra stop now?

Imagine being Pirelli, bringing in this step difference in the compounds and saying it will mix up the strategies.

The mediums still make it to the end, Mclaren called it on the radio to Lando a few laps after they all changed.
