Picked up a Reolink doorbell to fit, wasn't expecting anything complicated which it's not, but my house has other ideas

At the moment (annoyingly) I can't get POE to it, which is the easiest way to install, it needs 12v-24v for full functionality.

Figured replace the transformer, that is 'usually' said to be on, or near the RCD box, mine, annoyingly, is not!

All I have is what's in the photo, I'm assuming it'll be running directly off the light circuit (just not got around to testing that yet) - https://ibb.co/DPtq4Qjk

Has anyone come across a similar bell box? Taking that the live and neutral feed will be hiding under the compartment on the left?

It must be, my neighbour had something similar, basically inside his chime he had a pair of bell wires going to his doorbell switch and underneath L/N coming in from the lighting circuit.. to a very similar looking transformer.

He replaced the chime with a box and put a normal bell transformer (with 24v AC out for compatibility) in it.. turned out much easier than he thought, but it did leave a box on the wall (even if it replaced the chime)..

I was pretty confident that was the way to go, just didn't want to make the effort of getting it apart, with parts etc to find I'd have to reinstall.

Thanks all, will let you know of big fat fail or success when I eventually get around to doing it!
