Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

I suspected all summer that Diaz would leave, despite the constant 'not for sale' chat. I'm a big fan of his and think he's criminally underrated by sections of our support because he didn't score at the same rate as Salah or peak Mane, which I always felt was unfair. He's much more of a winger than an out and out forward, doing far more defensive work than any forward we've had in years but still expected to get forward and chip in too, which he always did. His work rate and ability to carry the ball long distances are something we're going to miss.

It'll be fascinating to see what we do in the rest of the window because with Nunez and Chiesa both likely to be leaving we're down to 3 senior forwards + Wirtz. Even if we can do the Isak deal we're still light in numbers, particularly the wider roles.

Do you think Slot will still use wider roles?

Maybe us having Wirtz and Dom he may change it or tweak it perhaps

I still think next has to be a centre back, all talk is on Isak coming whilst of course would welcome it, im more concerned from defensive side in the middle atm

Part of me has always wondered whether Wirtz could be the Diaz replacement on the left but we still need another forward. It's not just the likelihood of Nunez and Chiesa leaving but also Elliott too and AFCON meaning Salah will miss 4-6 weeks of the season.

And I'm sure we'll sign another CB - the club can and will be working on multiple deals at once. It looks like Guehi's the one we're after and it's now a game of brinksmanship with Palace as to who blinks first.

Players come, players go. Much as I liked him, it was the right time for Diaz to go.

I hope we don't miss his intensity and availability. He was/is a warrior.

I think the Diaz deal is to balance the books a little. If Nunez had gone already I'm not so sure this deal would have happened but with Diaz's head being turned, and Slot preferring Gakpo a lot of the time anyway I think it's was inevitable. I'll miss his ability to take the ball and run with it to ease pressure and his work rate was great. For his sake I hope it doesn't turn out like Mane's move to Bayern.

There still the Rodrygo link & other left sided forwards - think we'll see a fair bit of Ngumoha as well this season. i also thought we might see Wirtz on the left, but so far in preseason he's been in his favored '10' position. Ekitike could well be used on the left once Isak comes in.

CB's seem to be Guehi, Creswell an a couple of young Italians (rather we stayed away from those however, Italians largely dont do well in the prem)

Do Arsenal have any more targets now Gyokeres is done, or are we looking at their complete team minus maybe a backup or two towards the end of the window?

Feel like this is last chance saloon for Legohead now that he's got his man, win the Prem/CL or get the sack.

Strong rumours about Eze still.

I'd be suprised if we let all off Nunez, Elliot,Chiesa and Doak leave tbh. Doak did well at Boro last season. I'd let Nunez and Chiesa go and keep the HG lads tbh.

He doesn't look that great and especially not for the figures/wages quoted. Could easily just be worry about how we get rid of Hojlund and Sesko next summer. Sort out the midfield/GK and then worry about striker if we have any money left. A midfielder is currently the most pressing issue.

aye, get midfield and gk sorted and i think there'll be enough goals in the team to push top 8 (6 with a bit of luck) - part of me still thinks there's a player there in Rasmus but the lad has been in an absolute clown show of a team from day one. maybe a better functioning team round him will help see him deliver more.

that being said, i defended onana start of last season as i felt the lad was bound to be 'shell shocked' with the amount of shots we were facing as a team. part of me then felt he may have shown more composure etc when he had a functioning back line in front of him. turns out that i know **** all about footy and the fella is just absolutely pony.
