YouTube Premium

Been kicked out of a few countries over the last 8 months or so, but never had a problem (using NordVPN) to sign up in a different country and get another month or so, however everytime I try now (even before inputting any payment details) I get the error message "we couldnt verify your country" even though YouTube thinks I am in the country I am trying to sign up from, and my IP location is shown as being in that same country.

Are they now blocking access if they detect you are using a VPN?

Any way around this (except signing up in the UK and paying the exorbitant fee?

Thx
Try a different VPN, such as UrbanVPN. Nord is the worst to use, their IPs most likely all blocked already.
ive got to the payment stage and it denies the card with needs to be issued in the country or suchlike, using revolute

Edit. Of anyone's thinking of listing a family membership space on the MM i would be interested

Finally caved and just bought a solo premium membership last week after being kicked out of Algeria after only a month :(

Wish I could take advantage of family but as my google account is a workspace account I can't

Need to finally sit down and de-google my life at some point, but it's all so much effort!

Been reading this tread for a while and thinking of joining in India as I have access to a local card. Anybody else using India? Noticed that they’ve also put their family prices up.

Not really
As I'm new and only really use the forum for reading this thread :)
Your post count is always 0 ? Even though you have quite a few replies here

GD posts don't count AFAIK

Just thought I'd update

After spending 5 hours trying every single country I could find, with a variety of VPN apps, and attempting purchases with 3 cards on each one, I gave up

It seems whatever Google have done to clamp down, they have done so fully. I had a good run - about 5 years paying on average £2.50 a month.

I signed up on Sharesub but there were no subscriptions going, with over 300 on a wait list...

So I bit the bullet, signed up to the Family plan at £19.99 (feel sick !)

After verifying my subscription on Sharesub I was able to fill my membership entirely within only a few hours.
So now it costs me £3.33 per month, and each member pays £3.33 as well.

As long as they don't clamp down on that, I will be happy.

Do you get just one payment or 5 small ones? I was hoping for a slot on the MM but signed upto sharesub now and waiting for a slot atm

right, all the previous members of a family group
I'm paying around £5 a month, I just VPN'd to UAE and it paid with Monzo, worked fine. I was paying £2.50 a month after VPN'ing to Turkey for years
just tried that with revolute, not having it :o

On the plus side for me all my current family members have now agreed to split the bill for the full cost so it's a non issue but as my secondary account is the primary member on the group I want to take it over with my main account and free up one slot
What's the process for this? From what I'm reading it's remove everyone from the group then setup a new family membership on my main account and invite everyone back in?
Has anyone done this and encountered any issues?

The only issue I can think of is if anyone has moved family groups in the past 12 months. YouTube's rule is that you can only change family groups once every 12 months

The groups been active for 5 years with no changes so hopefully we should be ok for 1 change?
Tbf I'm not sure it's worth the risk of the change as it might cause issues

I’ve not experienced it myself, but going by YouTubes wording I don’t see why you’d have any problems.

Maybe someone else in here has done the same and can reassure

like netflix surprising that both companies haven't sealed the loophole of subscribing abroad long ago such that only avoidance is perpetual VPN,
plus anti-fingerprinting strategy, if that exists.
