I don’t but I printed a mount for the McLaren Lego F1 car I found on maker world for someone else. From what I understand it is still on the wall!

I've got an Ultimaker 3D printer at work so was thing about 3D printing a bracket for it but I quite like the idea of having a 'poster' of some kind underneath it. Had a look at one on Unique Displays but not sure if there's anything better out there!

Zavvi have them on sale at the moment. I may have bought a Ferrari SF-24.

I've actually cancelled my bricklink designer set order. Part of the reason to buy was the exclusivity and they've increased numbers so much it didn't even sell out.

Those damn botanical sets are so nice though. I struggle not to buy them. Pretty much all I buy now.

Yes, if lego sets don't go up in value anymore (they don't seem to be) it's not something that I can justify spending money on.

That's why I don't buy anymore. They don't hold value now.

Yes and it works really well. Thingyverse has most mounts and orientations already uploaded. Will hang the rest of mine when they are built.



Will put the Le Mans cars over the window. Need to have a re-jig of the room, a need to get a display case in for my Lego Castle stuff. Currently its kind of everywhere!

My wife has decided she wants to start doing Lego. She loves Harry Potter/Star Wars so imagine she'll focus on those. Just picked her up the Hagrid car and sorting hat sets as starting points, but man some of the stuff in the shop was incredible/also horrifically expensive.

My Mrs has the big diagon alley set, and the bank. They look pretty good, she's also got the burrow to build as well. Very good for displaying imo.
 
Yeah i've been trying to push her towards display ones more than anything else. We've decided one of the spare rooms in the new house will be an office for her rather than having 2 guest rooms so she'll have a decent place to display everything.


Side note and maybe not in the spirit of the thread, but what are the Chinese sets like Mould King like? I much prefer the look of some of their Jeep Wrangler sets to the original

I've had a few. The 'pinch' can often be wildly variable, sometimes tighter than Lego, but then at other times it can be looser. I've yet to have a kit with missing pieces from China, but only have a few kits. The instructions are generally poor with multiple stages crammed in to each page and sometimes not as clear as a Lego manual but 99% of the time they follow the same steps as the Lego model so you can use the online lego instructions. Delivery can take as long as two weeks, maybe even more if you order during Chinese New Year for example. Often there's no printed box, just bags crammed into a plain brown box or even into a bubble wrapped bag. Can't knock the price difference though! Some only buy Lego kits and I do prefer them, but I can't ignore paying £30 for the UCS TIE Interceptor compared to £200 from Lego or £35 for the Technic Chiron, although I think I do prefer Lego kits overall.
 
Well so far I've managed to sell 3 models on eBay so pretty good going. Sold these three;

4022 sea cutter
8438 pneumatic truck
8480 space shuttle.

Sorry I tried to add them as pictures, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I did have to order a couple of new pieces here and there but not too bad overall. I need to free up room for more lego :p .

Cheers, the MK ones seem quite expensive. Especially the Jeep at €160 but i've seen questionable reviews (i actually preferred model 13124 as it's more like mine but reviews were even worse)

Also, because i've youtubed the above, it's then been feeding me lots of Lego based content. Some fantastic nostalgia of sets i've long forgotten like the castle wolf faction and the Aquazone sets.

IIRC mould king do their own designs rather than just steal Lego designs and western IP. That’s why they are more expensive - they actually do some work.

I've put together a ton of alt brick sets and yeah quality can vary but for Brands such as Mould King, Cada, or any that use GoBricks then the quality is very good and in some instances exceeds actual Lego, especially when it comes to colour consistency across parts.
 
Cheers guys. I'm tempted and don't have an issue with the cost. The Wrangler actually looks like the car whereas the Lego version is awful. Just conscious it's a lot of money for something which might not be great.
