saw a b grade 16 gb 5060 in ocuk's shop for just £350
so far my experience with ocuk B grades has been 100% positive, so since my son's system has been pottering along with an 8gb 4060 @1440p I thought that i'd treat him to the 5060 16 gb 5060
reviews look favourable for it, putting it at up to50% faster than the 4060 but they say this model runs hot ,so, I doubt he will be able to OC it as high as the the 4060 but maybe this the time time for him to learn how to flash a gpu bioswith an undervolted bios for a long term overclock, he's gotten quite good at tweaking overclocks now, so I'm sure that he will find some % faster than stock OC mid term
his OLED 1440 monitor has a max of 240 hz, so I'll probably end up getting him an even better gpu come black friday etc, if i'd have had the money today, I would have bought a 5070 new, but sadly I had other priorities this month :( but hey it is always nice to have an upgrade path.
card arrives tomorrow(sat), so touch wood everything will be okay

I would have contacted them about a deal when buying b-stock, they do negotiate
the last time I tried that they did not even grace me with a reply to say no, really peed me off because I put in a good offer, cba with a shop being rude like that again, by the time I get a none existant reply the card would have been yoinked by someone else

If you've upgraded a 4060 so soon,it just proves what most were saying that it was a pointless buy.

Equally aside from the extra vram, the 5060ti still isn't a huge leap.
Seems pointless to already be considering what to get next (after the 5060ti) - you would have been better off hanging on another couple of months then jumping straight to a 5070/9070

You’ve not got a good deal there at all dude. As I said above, you can get 9060xt’s 16gb brand new for less money. That’s mental paying more for a second hand 5060

So why buy b grade again if that’s your feelings/experience.

Get that b grade returned pronto hoss and get a new card for less money.

Sounds like a great deal, clearly better than the 9060 XT since you'll be relying on upscaling a lot.

Last time I tried OCUK B grade, the card was DOA, so hopefully yours is OK

Only real downside is the 6 months warranty...

keep us updated bud
the rsults are in, card didn't work at first, so squeaky bum moment from him to start with, he is competent enough to put his own parts in now, then oddly he decided to reset the BIOS then the card worked, phew, let's see how the card fared in some games all @1440p,with dlss on:with a 7800X3D and32GB 3866mhz DDR4 ram running at 4000mhz, the card was overclocked before testing, achieving an extra 1/4 core, andanextra 1/4 on the memory, this proved stable in 3d mark, and for all the game testing, today he will try and push that overclock further to around 50% increase on both core, and mem, I dunno if the ddr7 ram is going to play ball there, but we can hope ,so

WOW CLASSIC MOP ARENA , fps went up to a bonkers 600 fps, this was good to test the temp of the card, and for coil whine, it only hit 55c, which isn't too bad for an overclocked card with only two fans, there is no coil whine let's check those
other games:
OBLIVION REMASTERED medium settings: went up from an almost unplayable 50fps to 100 fps,so he can give that game a proper go now, max settings was not tested
HUNT SHOWDOWN 1896: went from a variable 60 to 120 fps on medium settings to a stable 230 fps on medium setting, and a stable 140 fps on max settings
PUBG: this is where things become interesting, this went from a stable 80 fps on medium/low to a stable 310 fps on ultra, this is quite a big leap going from low/medium to ultra, and getting more fps, we think that PUBG must be well optimised for dDLSS4 here?
MARVEL RIVALS: this is what pushed the need for a new 16GB card because a recent update had stopped the 8GB 4060 from being able to run the game, now it runs with 16GB but son was too tired to fps test the game, after a day at work work, stressing about making the card work, and testing all the other games, today we will fps test marvel rivals, and rust
worth noting that his lag during streaming has totally disappeared now!
So, overall we have had good success here,
again, no trouble from an ocuk B grade item, and the card is definately an upgrade from the 4060, okay, we have not maxed out the 240hz that his monitor is capable of, but a 5070ti upgrade will sort that in november for his birthday
bviously we do not have a 9060 to test side by side, but this review does ( pay close attention to the gaming benchmarks)

we know that it wasn't going to be a *huge * leap, but he plays his favourite game (marvel rivals) with ray tracing on, which really affects his fps, so overall the increase could/ should be quite large leap@ higher settings!, according to marvel rivals gpu reviews definately a bigger leap than the 9060 anyway. couldn't wait to get another card, because with recent updates, he has just hit the Vram limit in marvel rivals plus he doest get his wage until next week too

he had pretty much made his mind up with a new 5060ti when getting his wage, but couldn't afford the B grade either, so I just fronted the money for now, because I could afford to still saved money and , the end result was always going to be the same, an upgrade

see above for the full results, the card is definately an upgrade from a 4060,
And there is no harmin aiming for the 5070 next, can't see why not to keep an upgrade route in mind

I certainly wouldn't worry about B grade, I've had plenty of B grade GPU's from OC/UK and not had any problems.

Because you've wasted money twice? A 4060 that's lasted less than a year, and a 5060Ti that you're planning on replacing already. May as well of waited a couple of months and gone straight to the 5070
