28 Years Later Trilogy

Disapointment of the year.

The last third with Kelson and the ending, just terrible. 1st 2 thirds ok, but nothing spectacular, somehow gave up the tension of the chase sequences for the cinematography.

WTF was that...
The first half was good, but it totally lot it's way after that.. the ending was stupid, and the whole movie didn't really go anywhere.

Strange film. Clearly took cues from the TLoU with the evolution of the rage virus. The cinematography was weird with staggered jump cuts, which I guess was another evolution from the previous films methods.
The kid was scared one minute, next taking his ill mother back out in to it the next; who also just happens to be a nutty killer, when the mood takes her.
A pregnant infected that gives birth to a non-infected baby due to the "protections" offered by the placenta?! Whut?
The Jimmy Saville tribute act was weird considering the film starts with the Teletubbies! I guess they also binged on the Jim'll Fix it DVD collection? Ooookay.

I didn't notice this thread, I'll repeat what I posted in another.....

Oh my, whilst we had reasonable expectations we were not prepared for none of them being met.
It was so bad, on so many levels.
I suppose that in itself is quite an achievement.
I was hoping that the ending might have made it all seem somehow better, but then I watched it.....

2/10

One for Jodie and the other for Ralph, for them enduring what they did whilst making it.

Edit...... I almost removed the two points due to the surreal ending, but both Jodie and Ralph must have suffered enough up to that point and deserved them, as actors not the characters in the film.

”A pregnant infected that gives birth to a non-infected baby due to the "protections" offered by the placenta?! Whut?”

This is a thing - if you google placenta virus protection you’ll come across loads of articles and studies on it and how viruses have ‘counter-measures’ etc.

23 years to write a script and that's what they come up with?

Good

Kid actor was good, as was the dad. Ralph Fiennes too.
Interesting starting premise, set up on an island and having to go to the mainland for resources.

Bad

Ralph Fiennes - had some Apocalypse Now Marlon Brando vibes.
Evolved/mutated infected. Birthing infected - i get we have seen the zombie genre a million times and maybe Danny B wanted to try something different? He failed, massively.
Ninja Jimmy Savile's - i need to read up on whether this had some meaning or just a F You to the audience showing we will lap up any crap churned out.
Cillian Murphy - was he in it? Did his story wrap up or did i miss something?

I would have been happy with the infected still being under the Rage madness, so lots of peril and deaths
> The Swedes didn't sink their boat, they were part of a recon unit and the World is finally trying to save the UK.
> mmmm, ok with the zombie hybrid baby, maybe the ending could have seen a Swedish heli landing at the survivors island and a doctor taking the baby as it may be able to produce a vaccine
> end
>28 Years Later Pt 2: things go wrong in a Swedish lab > mass outbreak in Sweden (or whatever country they took it too). Ending is either the whole World is infected or by the end of the movie, the outbreak is contained and vaccine created.

But what we got here was not good.

Gonna read the whole thread now (avoided until watched the movie).
