With tax free shopping it was a very attractive price for one in as good condition as this.

Just stuck a roll of Pro 400H into it and plan to run it through tomorrow and get it processed before I go home in case I need to use the 30 day warranty.

How many have you got in your collection now?

I recently picked up an S5D with the 18-40 and a Meike 50mm f1.8 (which I'm seriously impressed with for £116). I haven't done any photography in probably a decade, but I used to do a lot of band stuff and some weddings with a Nikon D7000 way back.

Just wondering if there's any other must get lenses/gear as I've been out of it for so long.

Depends what you’re shooting really. Generally speaking though, I got a new strap which has made wearing the camera all day effortless. It goes over the left shoulder and round the body for the camera to hang on the right side. The left shoulder bit has a small strap to go under the armpit to prevent the main strap from riding up and chafing the neck. It has a clip which slides along the strap, so the camera hangs round my waist when let go, and when I raise it to my eye, the clip slides up the strap without the strap having to move and chafe my neck. Life changing!

Got myself a Canon 35 mm f2.8 F/D lens from ebay for the AE-1.

I am thinking of getting a 100-400 lens after borrowing one, trading in my 100-300. I like that they weigh a lot less with micro4/3

It'll save you a fortune anyway!
Theoretically, yes. At least that’s what I’ve told Mrs. Scuzi. I currently pay the lab I use £5 per roll of C41. Self developing will come out at around £2.50-3.00, so not a huge saving. B&W is £7 a roll in the lab, and doing it at home will be around £3 a roll. E6 is where the big saving will be, working out at around £3-4 per roll versus £12 at the lab, and I really love shooting slide film. I have about 15 rolls in the fridge and freezer, so the saving on those alone should cover the purchase of the equipment.

The main reason I want to do it is to experiment with pushing and pulling which should hopefully help me achieve some of the results I have have in my head!
