Dune: Awakening

Crazy this is not a thing. I initially just assumed it was like this and stuck some credits in the bank.
It's on purpose so that the servers don't get cluttered with bases - tbh I don't have an issue with it. I'll probably play until DD then bank valuable stuff and dismantle main base and leave it for a while

I'm at the point where I've done the main story and vast majority of the side quests. Just shy of 80hrs in and I'm thinking I too am done for now. It has been fun, i've been doing it solo and its getting to be a bit of chore now with endgame tech etc Duraluminum is a bit of a slog to collect. Plastinium is just straight up too much effort.
I'll probably just give up the base and come back to the game fresh when sufficient new content has been added.

I'm not sure there's a point in dismantling your base vs leaving it to rot when you stop playing. You simply can't store that much in the bank for how much a base uses. 30 items and a volume capacity of 1500. A buggy takes up 11 slots straight off for me. A stack of cobalt paste is 500v, the volume doesn't go far I feel.

Yeah I've got 6 month old twins so taking my time getting through the game. When I get to DD I will probably bank anything that's valuable and then build a small base and horde stuff there and leave a load of power so it doesn't need tax and wait for more content (or more time to pvp). IT's a great game - very immersive but thinking about trying Abiotic Factor next

Exactly. Best bet is to just set a reminder to log in every 10 days to pay taxes and keep the lights on

I was just talking about giving it up on the map like you do in the tutorial. I never though about storing stuff in the bank. Might stick a orni in there, if possible? Along with a good set of essential tools.

Can you store an scout orni in the tool then store that?

I've played about 35 hours & I really want to love this game but the game-play loop is.. very dry  The latest patch pinched my bike as well which doesn't help for motivation.

You can as far as I know but you can also keep it on your character as the vbt is only 2v. It's really your character and the bank that's safe long term.

vehicle backup tool. Even if you destroy/lose the tool from what I gather if you make another the vehicle you last backed up will be stored on it regardless. It's a global thing.

I'm really enjoying the game, love the setting and music, I can spend ages just exploring the zones in Hagga Basin tbh, I'm not in a rush.

22hrs in and a worm finally got me! I didn't realise you lost everything everything when they get you. I was on a run back from getting iron and machinery and saw a downed ship so figured why not...I could not outrun that worm sadly

I spent most of this afternoon chilling, watching youtube completely rebuilding my main base, such a chill game :D

Agree more content is needed but if I rebuild my base weekly I'll be fine.. treat it like peaceful rust!

I got 120 hours out of it but ive hit a wall now and think im done with it, i cant complain as i really enjoyed it but its silly having to log in to pay taxes etc.

It's there purely to refresh the land if people aren't playing. Likely timescales will change later. Also you can set permissions so your friends can pay and vice versa.

This would make more sense if servers were busier but they've got too many servers and too many sietches on those. I've discovered at peak time there's less than 10 players on Pisces Makab where I am! https://dune.gaming.tools/server-status

They will have to figure out how to merges servers IMHO, although I don't really pvp it's nice to meet people in game and coop.

I spent an hour or so yesterday reducing my base to sub fief size (5*5*7 to be safe), demolishing the advanced one and putting the sub down. Sure it's a bit cramped but works and no tax.

Switched everything off and consolidated the power down to 2 generators and a turbine (no pentashieds). Dropped off all my cash and mélange into the bank and am mothballed until content or they fix end game PvP (unlikely considering how broken it is). Will just log in every 3 weeks and hit a button and log out.

Fantastic game, really enjoyed it but I've got nothing left to do in it and was just wandering about with mates in the end doing nothing.
