TV programs that you can no longer watch?

Walking dead... That was just garbage....

Picard/discovery/new worlds? I honestly just gave up on one of my favourite sci-fi shows ever.

I actually give up on so much TV these days, it's relentless. There's always something new...

New Worlds was pretty good, Picard season 3 is some of the best trek we’ve had. I’m sure many are in your boat and are missing out on some great episodes.

Season 3 is fine, i gave up on 2. There's been plenty of hype about season 3.
New worlds maybe.. maybe not not... not bothered

Rewatched Prison Break. Still enjoyed the first three, but lost interest in Season 4.

The irony!

There are programmes I haven't finished (Stargate SG 1) and programmes I want to watch (X-files) but just can't get round to watching due to having 24 episodes a series and 10+ series.

Vikings...up until a pivotal point in S4, it was well written and engaging, it then descends into what feels like a parody of itself with over acting and poor characters decisions from that point on.
I was thinking of watching this - But I thought this was historically based, so wouldn't the poor decisions still be true to life?

My partner and I watched every single episode and film whilst she was pregnant. I'd say do it. Its amazing. Yeah, some episodes are weaker than others but some are genuinely brilliant.

I also kind of miss TV where the episodes felt mostly separated. There was a theme over it all with The Smoking Man but otherwise each episode felt individual.

Strike Back.
Attempted to start this series one late night and could not bring myself to watch episode 2. First episode was full of endless scenes of men, slowly looking off centre at the camera and sighing. Shoulda named it Sigh Back.

Totally echo the thoughts around Doctor Who.
I think that is partly an age thing and my eldest daughter (22) still quite likes it having been indoctrinated with Tom Baker at a young age. The Star Trek stuff also suffers although I'm not quite as down on it as some on here. A lot has to do with attention spans and the need to grab viewers but give them the closure at the end of every episode. Lets take Doctor Who as an example The pacing of the show has changed to prioritise 50 minute episodes that are stories in their own right and only secondarily play to a series narrative. I find it all two frantic and over acted. It such a stark contrast to when I watched Dr Who - it was 25 mins once a week (Saturday dinner time I think), 4-6 episodes in a story line and much more gently paced. You really looked forward to the next episode. Now - I'm not sure anyone is on tenterhook?

Star Trek series are similar. I actually think that Discovery was ok aside from the end of the last series which was awful. However its a far cry from the likes of Voyager which I 've watched all the way through twice and TOS which I've also cycled through several times. Todays youngsters just have different expectations from Tv and directors seem to have to pander to the Netflix binge format.

There is still some brilliant TV and we are totally spoiled compared to 30 years ago but sadly it's been at the expense of quality as multi screen bingeing is the way to consume now. Comedy is probably the biggest casualty. I don't think I've enjoyed a sit com since Nighty Night or Coupling and still nothing can eclipse the likes of Blackadder.

Aye, and after he's done that he can watch the X-Files, it is amazing as you say.

Oh, hang on, I may have misinterpreted that. I did think getting someone pregnant first was a bit of an ask, especially if it was for watching The X-Files.

:D
