Reminiscent of when the Mercs were mustard in clean air, but ate tyres onc3 within 3 seconds of the car in front.
My favourite thing from that 2020 season, Bottas having an engine/grid penalty and starting P10 in Monza and just being unable to overtake anyone. The car was 100% built to start from P1/P2 and drive away - but had a real nightmare the moment there was someone in front.

Great race finish. Piastri losing that cool they were raving about at the start of the season.

Lando could have done with passing Russell early on, but he did well to keep Piastri behind him. I recall Hamilton praising him for keeping him at back a few years back. Same for Bortoletto behind Alonso who loves to create F1 trains. Could have today a bit easier.

Enjoyed the first and second third of that race, good stuff.

This is going to swing like a pendulum all season but as I’ve said from the start I think Lando is naturally quicker than Oscar, whereas Oscar has a cooler head and more consistency. With that in mind the ball is really in Lando’s court; he can get more consistent and learn to be calmer. If he does, he can win it. On the flipside Oscar can’t just get naturally quicker.

TLDR; Consistency wins the WDC, so it’s all up to Lando.

10 races left, 9 points between Oscar and Lando. Such a good setup!

Dutch F1 next though...eurgh

Another cheap win for Lando this time given the better strategy. I feel like Piastri did all the work there to break Charles, and Lando benefited the most. There's a few now Piastri has been unlucky on despite being the quicker driver over the weekend.
Sometimes it has seemed like McLaren have it in for him.

Lol wasn't cheap or easy the strategy was because they had nothing to lose , think they took Oscar to long to pit that cost him

Hardly a cheap win

Not as cheap as Silverstone, but still cheap. He only won because he lucked out on pretty much having to do a one stop, which happened to be the perfect strategy given what others were doing. I'd define that as luck yes.

Also Oscar asked for the lap delta. Instead of pitting when Le Clerc did. He was given the option.
