Why comment if you aren’t reading the conversation? Every driver complains; nobody has said otherwise, but what matters is whether you can put that aside and get on with the job.
Anyway, back to the teammate that actually tries. With Charles having to potentially run a different map and higher pressure in the tyres to avoid plank wear, that would explain a lot and aligns with what George noted. Surely they know this when setting up the car.
How have Ferrari got it so wrong this season? This was probably their best chance at winning a race this season.
They ended last season relatively close to McLaren (better at some tracks, behind at others) but now they just seem to be in this weird place where the car is on a knife edge and they have to always do lift and coast to make sure they don't get DSQ'd again for plank wear or brakes exploding.

Leclerc was apparently angry on the radio over a front wing change in the pits, but his problems were actually down to a chassis issue

No sir its not the car, its Lewis’s fault remember? lol but no seriously half the issues that Lewis has encountered have been due to the car imo.

Lewis isn't pre-2021 Lewis anymore so it's fair to assume he's lost a step or two but how many other 40 year old drivers are up agaisnt someone many assume is top 3, at worst, on the grid?
I don't think Sainz did any better compared to Lewis in his first year at Ferrari. Next year is make or break to if he wants another go in 2027.

Carlos finished ahead of Charles in 2021...
The vague radio messages and "chassis issue" excuse probably points to plank wear or something that they don't want someone looking closer at. Crazy that they setup the car that way after several practice sessions.
Seems it isn't only Hamilton's form that has dropped since 2021 but also my memory
This is the part that seems so mad to me, surely they know about it after 3 practice sessions? Or is it a case of they are just going to be so incredibly slow if they don't run it lower so they just have to deal with it during the race?

Wouldn't surprise me if setting up the car 'correctly' so it isn't a concern ruins the ground effect aero and they'd be plodding around battling it out with Haas and Alpine most races, whereas this way they can at least start fast (or run a period of the race fast), try to get some track position, and then 'manage' the problem to a top 8 finish for both cars - since their DSQs in China, they've only finished outside the Top 8 once with each car, which has been enough to keep them second in the constructors race for now...

Lewis outscored Russell in 23 I believe?
In 24, Lewis was practically serving his notice period meaning halfway through the season he was locked out of most of debrief and didn’t get the same upgrades etc as Russell.
Then this year. Lewis indeed is 40 odd points behind Charles but Lewis has just joined the team. New dynamics, new environment etc. For sure there has to have been some gel time. Maybe few months gel time in a team?
To be fair you typically don't retain stats outside of who won the whole thing unless you're really into the stats. I just recall that Carlos, over his time at Ferrari, wasn't that far of Charles.
I guess the other side of it is, have an "illegal" setup for half the race then switch to compromised mode in the 2nd half and finish 4th vs out of the points.
Lews was very good in 23. He has been rather rubbish since, but even then still nabbed two wins in 24.
I do think he has lost his edge a bit, but I think it's being amplified by some clear issues with that Ferrari car. I think Ferrari have seriously ****** up the design this year.

Yeh. I mean in fairness to him, he has been teammates with arguably two of the fastest drivers on the grid (part of the elite group from the younger generation).
He did still outperform George in 23 which wasn't too long ago. He still shows glimpses of his former brilliance too, but age catches up with everyone no matter how fit or how well you've looked after yourself.
Maybe he is just less adaptable to new ways of driving/difficult cars due to his age etc as well.

Always thought going to Ferrari is a mistake for top drivers... But here we are. They do seem to mess up over 50 percent of the time.
Alpine? They should just leave the sport really. That was a shocker.
Great stuff by mclaren. I would have tried the 1 stop on this track too as track position is key. Not in hindsight. I thought piastri should heavy done it too. No brainer for norris. I'm a piastri fan but I'm glad the WDC is closer.
What a great package the mclaren team/drivers are. Zak seems a great boss too.. Polar opposite to alpine.
Enjoyed bundles pit lane walk. Thought that was more interesting than the race. But for hungry? A good race. Better than spa.
