James Whale just died from cancer, age 74. He first got it in 2000. Always liked him, even met him once on a charity gig I was on and he was the compere. RIP.

RIP. Used to listen to him on talk radio. I still recall him breaking the news of Diana’s death on his show.

Yep a voice from my childhood TV and Radio. RIP :(

He was always on late at night when we were absolutely wasted one way or another.

I remember the first time i watched his TV show The Saw Doctors were live. First time for both for me. Been a fan ever since

RIP

Another one who watched his late night show, always had good guests and never really bothered about being fake nice to people he didn’t like.
I guess I’m at an age where the people I used to watch and listen to are sadly checking out, he will be missed.

Used to watch his late night James Whale Radio Show (a TV show) back in the day after rolling in from the pub.

RIP

Same.

Many years ago we got back to a mates house (p*ssed) and i rang in - i complained about about the price of bananas (those cray cray things that sound amazingly funny when drunk).

He ended up asking his guests, did a studio audience poll and talked about the price of bananas with me for a few minutes. I had zero interest in the price of bananas.

Sad news, I've watched and listened to James for years - a big loss and will be missed.

TV was great back then on a Friday night, The Word, Eurotrash, WCW Wrestling with Rick Flair, Steiner Bros etc, Friday 13th the Series, James Whale Show - I remember one episode it was on about cryogenic chamber freezing dead bodys, gave me the creeps! Oh and the Howard Stern show and the Symbian machine and hot women! lol.
