Premium Bonds - If you post to say how much you've won, please also say how much you have invested.

£100 on max - so far this year I'm only getting a 2% return - giving it until end of the year to improve then will just pull most of it out into a high interest account where can get 4% or more.

I See plenty of people that seem to win quite well every month. Not just on here though..

Could be and wouldn't know it. About 10 years ago my gran died and left a handful of paper premium bonds. None of us knew what they were, so I had a quick look at the prize checker and nothing, but then no idea what happened to them after that, mum probably binned them, could have won the jackpot and wouldn't know it.

Zero again, 6th month in a row on a substantial amount. In 10 months I've only won 4 times and it's been low amounts. I'm well below the advertised rate of return so far.

Of course next month I'll get a big win to even it out........

I looked into it when an auntie passed and a £5 paper premium bond was found. IIRC once the holder has been dead for 12 months any winnings the bond gets is lost and cannot be claimed as the bond is 'dormant'[???]. Wasn't worth claiming the bond for the £1.25 that would go to my parent from the estate so checked the prize checker and left the bond default, but as the organisation who runs PB weren't told, that could be some unclaimed winnings, but they can never be claimed even if we wanted to.

I've got 2 months to go before my full year on max holding - I've got really lucky - extrapolated Im on a 5.7% return... If I win nothing the next two months I'll have a 4.75% return for 12 months !!!!

EDIT- thats mostly becuse i won £800 one month, the rest of the time its been £100-150 ish or so.

It's kinda not worth bothering with under £25k in, unless you are paying tax on savings elsewhere, ISA maxed out, etc.

Already logged in. I think the unclaimed prizes were from way back in the day. Paper ? I only had paper when I had winnings then I turned off and went paperless.

I have no idea on history as iv held it at max a few years now . Im considering taking some out holding it in account then buying more bonds again. Seem to be getting a lot less than I used to .
