NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Full WC is too much of a pain, Also had a full loop around the GTX 900/1000 days but never again, Too much money for too little gain with too much risk.

To me, water cooling is half the fun of building and getting it right with low temps and a quiet system is very rewarding. Love having my 5090 (Gigabyte WB) run in the late 30's/early 40's max for the majority of my gaming during the summer so far (in a room that often reaches 30C with the PC not even on).

Sure, it's a complete money pit and not worth it for most people, but I would feel quite lost and a bit bored without it...:D

Spend some of the water cooling money on AC instead :p

So put a Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro on my card (Gig Aorus Waterforce) in May, about a week after getting it so nothing melts....and undervolted, no mods.
What's that smell?
It melted?

Actually cable from psu to it is perfect, so just gpu. Hopefully RMA is fine, not OCs.
I ll also reach out to TG as seems like a decent company.

Well, the 5090 has been a journey...
Need to borrow my sons 4070Ti now for Battlefield Weekend.

Damn! You literally did everything you could have done to prevent this from the look of things. I hope you have a good RMA experience.

I'd be curious to know how AIB's handle melted connectors, Do they try and dodge around it and make excuses to avoid replacing it or do they just honour the warranty ?

Yes, we shall find out. The retailers policy states to RMA via them within 1st 12 months, so will see what the reply is on Monday...

Eh, still online so I hope not...u 'buy' 'e' letrical stuff from them  :D

Erm...
I know we are not supposed to mention competitors, however surely this is good news for overclockers.

This will just leave overclockers and a store in Bolton I guess.

EDIT: Sorry it appears overclockers are deleting part of the link as is contains the company name, however its a large firm in Goole.

I sincerely hope your RMA is not with this lot, unlike me. :(

Well ****, sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for a smooth RMA.

I've been absolutely paranoid about the melting connector since getting my 5090 in late-March. I figured it'd be like the 4090, where I'd worry for a couple of weeks then forget about it, but... nope! I'd been taking some reassurance from the fact that we hadn't yet seen any 5090 cases on these forums, but that just ran out of road.

Yeah, sorry about that. Temps never been that high according to the TG (under 100 at worst, av in 70), and that is also suppose to tell you about a poor conection as well, so I'll reach out to them tomorrow. TBH, I'd rather get a refund, (as that company don't have any, and might go into liquidation), and get an Astral for pin monitoring. I'm using a 4070ti now and its ok when I turn it down from 4k to 1440p, about half the power usage!
Noticed yesterday I haven't even paid for it either haha, as took buy now pay later interest free lol. So additionally, any run about and i can go to the Finance company. Might take a while but if I know I'm getting it refunded, I'll just buy another card now they are cheaper anyway...

That sucks donkey balls. I've very recently got a 5090FE and I'm purposefully using the adapter cable that comes with it just in case. If it goes wrong, as it's all Nvidia hardware then there is zero quibbling to be had.

Shouldn't have to think like this or do any of this nonsense though. The power delivery system is clearly a bad design. If more issues like this do indeed start happening then some sort of class action lawsuit definitely needs to happen.
