Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Well I'm shocked. I guess he must want Utd for us to make that bid.

I hope they have a solid plan for our midfield. Surely we can't start the season without a new midfielder.

Payment plans aren't new - Utd have been doing it for years and owe hundreds of millions to other clubs. Jim was talking out his backside trying to justify sacking the tea lady and you didn't need to wait for Utd to blow £200m again like they do every summer to see that. Utd literally produce quarterly accounts in which they confirmed there was no liquidity issue for the next 12 months.
No, I know they’re not (after the last time I fluffed that up). But the most recent structures probably help. I’m guessing this offer will be not as much upfront (if at all) as Newcastle.

And money can't surely be that tight if they're going to risk so much?

How much is a top midfielder? Surely we can't spend another £80m on a midfielder?

@BaZ87 do you have any estimates on how big the war chest is?

I'm not sure what's different about recent structures - if the Cunha deal is anything to go by (fee paid in 3 installments) then that's pretty much bog standard. Ratcliffe was simply talking out his backside when he claimed that Utd would go bust by Christmas if he didn't sack a load of staff. It was an outright lie to save him from more criticism.

As I said, you don't even need to look at the money Utd have spent since his comments but read Utd's own accounts. Within a businesses accounts there will be a section commenting on their liquidity and ability to continue to operate over the next 12 months. If you look at some of Everton's old accounts they will state that they couldn't continue to operate for the next 12 months without further funding. Utd's quarterly accounts, one of which was published around the time of Ratcliffe's lies, state very clearly that the club had the funds to meet all it's obligations for the next 12 month.

I assume Newcastle will be offering something similar in terms of wages too, he's reportedly agreed terms with both clubs.

so am i right in thinking that if sesko agrees to come to ManU over NewU it means he chose us because he prefers to be here rather than us offering more money.....that'll be a bit of a novel change if it's the case.

@the wopster
Bigpig knows. Trying to extract the most wages

We walk

Fully expect this to be his agent trying to get more bucks out of Manu. Lots of noise saying Sesko has picked Newcastle.

Even seen a story saying Klop has told him to pick Newcastle lol doing his part in trying to get Isak to Liverpool lol!

1 CB, 1 midfielder, and just 2 forwards required. :D
Newcastle still require 1Cb, 1 midfielder and two forwards!!

@BaZ87 Keith from Skysports even mentioned Newcastle offered the lump sum all up front like you said this week we should be doing :D

Only 1 forward, Isak’s isn’t going anywhere if we don’t get a top tier replacement(there ain’t many left)

Nobody really knows, but that's how it looks. It is interesting as Newcastle seem fairly settled (until this summer window anyway), they've got the money and also have Champions League football. But Manchester United is still a big draw particularly for foreign players, no matter what people claim.

He be gone unless he signs a new improved contract. Eddie won’t have a disgruntled, disruptive player around the squad if he really is acting up.

If we don't sign at least one top striker, arguably 2, he's not going anywhere this summer.

He can be as ****** off as he wants about it, but there's no way he's stupid enough to think that's an unreasonable stance for a professional football club (one that's qualified for the Champions League no less) to take.

We end up with Watkins, Ramos or Jackson along with Wissa. Seems Brentford will let him leave once they get a replacement.

Ramos would be my pick, as I don’t see villa selling Watkins to us.
Would be happy with Ramos or Wakins as long as Wissa is there. Really rate him.

Ramos for sure tho really deserves to be the main striker at a champion league club.

Get as much as possible for Isak we basically wipe two years off our PSR. We reportedly had around 140ish before sales.

Seen Bobby Clark has also been offered back to the club.
