Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

@Bigpig i have noticed that since you have been sponsoring transfer window threads, we’ve had stinkers of transfer windows. Take the hint and stop
Only real player we ****** up on this year is Trafford. Well two years runing lol. The others their intentions were pretty clear.

Thiaw is a fantastic CB and perfect for high line defending. Plus he ain’t **** in the air like Guhie. He’s the defender you always said we needed.

I don't understand UTD's transfer strategy. Bid 75m for Sesko and accept 30m or less for Hojlund. Might as well stick with Hojlund for a few more years to see if he comes good, only turned 22 this year and his numbers aren't that bad. They're basically the same player with Sesko being a bit further a long

Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me. We need a CM far more than a striker right now.

It makes sense if we also sign a CM, Hojlund's had his chance and the club have clearly and publicly said he's for sale. Sesko isn't really 'basically the same player' either.

You’ve already cursed us again on thiaw.

Sort of feeling the same. These huge money signings feel like "same old United". The risk is so high given our record of late. Cunha I can get, Mbuemo, well sort of as we have effectively divested of 4 number 10s so we are short on attacking numbers. However, there is hardly a United supporter that feels central midfield isn't an area of priority. We seem short on numbers given that only really Ugarte and Casemiro are bona fide in that position. Neither of them seems the perfect solution and I doubt would make it into a top 10 rivals first eleven.

Hojlund really was awful last season but his first season wasn't terrible. For me he just about gets a pass.

How about we swap Hojlund with Bruno Guimares or Tonali if we end up signing Sesko?

Ok ok ok!!

Not posting in this thread again until we sign someone!! :D
I've held my tongue all summer - its been a mare of a transfer window.

1. We've been humbled
2. The dream of what we could be has been smashed with reality - PIV aren't that fussed about making us a force
3. Its the same old problem of no-one wants to do the North East thing when Manchester or London exist
4. PSR things

I hold Bigpig fully responsible :D - if you are not posting until we sign someone see you in Jan :)

I jest of course, but what a window - I've gone from a cup win and CL qualification to the most deflated I've been since the Leicester Chowdy on loan sort of days...

I think we’ve aimed too high in this window and been found out, apart from the first window, every other window we’ve gone for players that have had either previous bad seasons (Isak) or not fancied to adjust to the PL (Botman/Tonali), Gordon wasn’t really stellar at Everton, Barnes came from relegated Leicester. We have in all honesty gone after players with a point to prove, this is the really the first window we have tried to mix with the Super league 6 and have came up short.

Both rely on physicality. And you don't have to be a technical monster to be a really good striker in the PL. Haaland for example.
I think expecting Hojlund to bang in 25 a season for UTD with all the pressure that comes with it when he's 20 or 21 is a big ask. And UTD have been a mess recently which makes it even harder. There's a lot of extenuating circumstances.
