New PC.

9700x/5070 Ti in a NZXT H3 Flow mATX case.

That is really clean. Will definitely be looking to go to M-ATX on my next upgrade and downsize the case a bit. Not sure I have any real need for a full board anymore.

Is it wrong that I'm wondering where the DVD drive is? Or am I just getting old?

I do still use a blu-ray drive, mostly for ripping the odd DVD or blu-ray to archive it on hard drive for when I want to encode them. I have to say though, I haven't ripped anything for a few months. :o

I grabbed a USB powered Verbatim drive to do mine. Gets tucked away when not in use (not that they are in use for anyone right now since the software is down for everyone world wide!)

Which software do you mean? To rip discs?

I won't mention the full name in case it goes against the rules of piracy here (which I'm not actually doing, as I am backing up the media that I own), but the go to for ripping DVDs for me is DVD D*******r. For blu-rays I use Make***.

The beta key for Make expired at the end of last week. Anyone without a permanent licence had access revoked and new orders for permanent keys are not being processed at the moment.

That's not good, but I think it was always a risk with that software. I'm only glad that I've got all my media backed up to a hard drive.

Famous last words! lol I still beleive mostly in that statement, that the HD600 is what I compare new headphones to, to some extent at least. That was true for a VERY long time, I did not get any at home use wired headphones that are open back for years, like from 2001 to like 2024 !!! Then last year I got the PC38x, which in reality is a rebadge, reskin, added mic of a HD600 with tweaks. Then this year I went a bit nuts in 6 months.

The HD600 is an odd one in that I don't consider it end game, but at the same time I compare everything against it and I find any time I listen to good headphones I end up finding them a bit of a tease/reminder of why I enjoy the HD600 - to the point buying the 505s motivated me to buy the parts to refurbish my 600s which have suffered from the memory foam going soft and the foam inserts over the drivers starting to crumble away.

Me too. It is not the pair i listen to. But I compare everything to it.

Sorry, possibly not the place to ask, however my old headphones that I use when video editing are borked. Would you recommend the HD600s against say the Beyerdynamic DT990 for that kind of use...?

I personally wouldn't, I would use the DT990 for that.

The HD600 is more for Hifi enjoyment rather than production. The bass on the HD600 is light is an understatement and you might end up over compensating in your editing if you use it. You want headphones that is a lot more flat and neutral, "boring" if a lack of a better word.

EXACTLY like the adverts just in the process of adding my own shortcuts etc as it functions as a stream deck but utterly love it already after only having it half an hour. cracking bit of kit and seems reasonable value at £115 delivered
packaging was spot on and the quality seems pretty much on point certainly better than i expected for the money.

works as a stream deck you can have a dozen preprogrammed links or actions set.

That makes this a bargain considering the stream deck is like £100 for a little one. Provided the apps on this covers what you want.
