If they're looking outside their stable; what is the purpose of their stable? Deal with the issues in the top team and I think it'll prove less of a meatgrinder for young talent. I don't fancy Hadjar's chances against Max, of course, but I think under Mekies they'll deliver a car that he will at least not embarrass himself in.

I just think there's plenty of evidence that chucking a young driver in a top team isn't always a recipe for success and some of them could do with 2-3 years at RB before being promoted to the "top" team; just because there's a gap at the top team doesn't mean they need to force someone who might not be ready into that seat.

Not every young driver is a Max or Lewis and can just hit the ground running in top machinery.
Who does the OCUK F1 Hivemind think would take Yuki’s seat for 2026 if offered?

No idea; I guess its likely to be an RB junior; personally I think they could do worse than someone like Bottas for a season

True. The trouble is that they gummed up their pipeline with Perez, Yuki lingering unpromoted, and Ricciardo's return and then botched the promotion of both Lawson and Yuki at the start of the season. But they've also got Lindblad, Goethe, and Marti in F2 already, and Tramnitz likely to be promoted next year. They need to get at least some of this talent moving upwards, and that means they need seats for them. I think that either Yuki finds his feet towards the end of the season or Hadjar is getting promoted next year. If they bring in a stopgap they're just going to create a new problem with a blockage stopping their drivers from moving up.

There's previous history with Sainz and Verstappen being team mates at Toro Rosso. Jos apparently suspicious of the team favouring Sainz and causing a stir behind the scenes. Some of that is covered here https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/...s-sainz-fits-into-red-bull-f1-power-struggle/
In a recent interview with Sainz, apparently it's a non-issue. Max would definitely have priority now and I don't think Sainz is as good, but he adapts well so should be competitive (if the car doesn't suck).

Yeah it's a shame the Williams car has dropped off a bit since the start of the season (no doubt because they've shifted focus to the new reg cars). Albon and Sainz starting relatively high up the grid was good to see. I hope the team can still come back like Mclaren has.

Not the most exciting line up tbh! 2 more F1 seats going to guys who have had their chance. Can understand wanting 1 experienced hand as a driver in a new team but 2??

Yeah, it's a very unambitious driver line up. One of them is a very good choice, particularly Bottas, but bringing in a bit of youth alongside would have kept one eye on the future, developing a driver to lead the team into the next rules era after the 2026 one. Neither driver have more than three or four years, at most, left of their careers so picking both means no chance of a long term driver there from the start.

Id imagine having experienced drivers who in theory are less likely to bin it and understand the technical/setup aspect is beneficial to a new team compared to bringing in someone inexperienced.

The first team to field 3 cars, all with the number 2.
With Mark Webber as a special advisor? :D
