Finally this new embarrassing saga is over, one of many embarrassing sagas so far.

Are we that bad? lol we must be doing something so wrong, or we just really are nobodies across footballers minds still.

Is there something dodgy going on here or what tin foil hat here, top 6 are against us ha.

I feel like our strategy has been all wrong, we should be looking at the level below these players to try our luck finding players like we did a few year back before competing with the “top 6”. I feel like we will have to really do this the hard way by actually getting top 6 finishes for 20 years before getting these players in.

It is only the more irritating because we are losing out to Man Utd, who have the most arrogant fan base going considering they have actually been so crap in recent years. I’m doing it nope, full Keegan mode, Id love it now if we still finish above them this coming season.

I’d honestly take finishing 14th right now as long as Man Utd are 15th :)

Liverpool actually deserve to poach our best players because they are actually an elite club in this era.

Other twitter (it’s not x I don’t care what they say) claim reason we’re not moving for a centre back atm is due to wanting Isak done

Utter daft, what if Isak doesn’t get done till after season starts? We need centre back in more than we need Isak
 
I'm surprised that Liverpool are still chasing isak. There's echos from the past of a transfer between Newcastle and Liverpool with a high value striker who was also 6ft 4 that didn't quite pan out. Had his share of niggling injuries as well.

As much comedy gold as that would be, the crowd that own Liverpool have learned their lessons of the past - their recruitment policy/data analytics etc have to be among the best around currently. That being said, I hope he turns out it be absolutely pony for them :p

I can't imagine that Watkins has said he wants to move, let alone has his heart set on a certain club. Newcastle don't need to lower their asking price, but they do need to consider the potential consequences of holding onto a player who doesn't want to be there for a year.

He may not have said it but having lived in both Birmingham and Newcastle I'd be jumping at the chance if I was him.

I think it's more Brentford won't sell until his asking price has been met. Same as with Mbuemo.

Another Saudi team had seemingly entered the fray for him. So there's a chance Newcastle get pipped to a player again... but this time by being too cheap!

Chelsea formally in for Garnacho now too, we’re asking £50m but it’ll probably be less! Good though.

Should tell them to **** off if they don't want to pay that. Hes worth £50m easily. If they want to pay any less then stick some silly clauses in there for extra payments along with a sell on clause.

As for the Isak stuff. If he wants to leave so bad, put in a transfer request officially.
