Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

What a terrible but at the same time hilarious window for Newcastle.

It surely can’t be that hard to get more money into the club or are PIF just not caring? They’re basically funding football at this stage. WC, CWC, SA teams.

Not caring I’d suggest. Feel they bought the club with the somewhat naive idea they could bankroll it to the top of world club football inside a couple of years without facing resistance from anyone. Now they are finding its plainly not the case it feels we’ve been cast aside like a broken toy on Christmas Day :D

They aren’t just funding football, they have been slowly (and quite possibly deliberately) funding some of Newcastles rivals. The Duran deal from Villa being an obvious one and while Liverpool aren’t a rival if Nunez goes to SA to fund the Isak deal then they are helping weaken the squad while ensuring the strong get stronger. By funnelling money into their national league in this way they are helping the gap to grow between the big teams and the others which is exactly why the rules Newcastle are hamstrung by were created.

Newcastle limped over the line last season but with a stronger squad could quite feasibly finished above Chelsea, the Chelsea that stick two fingers up to the rules constantly and are now the beneficiaries of 100m from pif. PIF are feeding the monster that the club are (supposedly) trying to fight.

I feel like our strategy has been all wrong, we should be looking at the level below these players to try our luck finding players like we did a few year back before competing with the “top 6”. I feel like we will have to really do this the hard way by actually getting top 6 finishes for 20 years before getting these players in.
Yeah agree with this part. Isak may been seen as an elite striker now but he certainly didn’t look like one in his first 6 months at the club and I don’t remember fighting with anyone over his signing. Shearer aside, I don’t think Newcastle have signed a proper super star at his peak ever but now it seems like we are going for these big name players and trying to compete with proper legacy big clubs. Yeah we are losing a superstar but we aren’t at the right place yet to be a destination of choice for the lads that are getting offers from Liverpool, Chelsea and the Manchester clubs.

With two cup finals and two champs league qualifications in the last few years Newcastle are broadly on the right track. I think we need to realign expectations a little and set our sights on more realistic targets. Mind the club isn’t helping itself with the current exec structure and lack of communication.

To be fair, Mount has looked pretty decent pre-season.

Yeah but for how long, that’s the issue. I don’t doubt his talent, just that he’s like Luke Shaw and is crocked more than not. Lets hope he has a good run this year

Finally this new embarrassing saga is over, one of many embarrassing sagas so far.

Are we that bad? lol we must be doing something so wrong, or we just really are nobodies across footballers minds still.

Is there something dodgy going on here or what tin foil hat here, top 6 are against us ha.

It is only the more irritating because we are losing out to Man Utd, who have the most arrogant fan base going considering they have actually been so crap in recent years. I’m doing it nope, full Keegan mode, Id love it now if we still finish above them this coming season.

I’d honestly take finishing 14th right now as long as Man Utd are 15th :)

Liverpool actually deserve to poach our best players because they are actually an elite club in this era.
Serious question, what is this odd fixation that Newcastle fans have about Man Utd. This fake rivalry that has been feuding for oh at least two years now is just borderline obsession.

From a Utd fans point of view, Newcastle are a great source of entertainment, dare I say amusement. The day the fixture list comes out I doubt any Man Utd fan worth their salt sits there saying 'YESSS We got Newcastle on such and such a date'

Rivals ????? Not a chance
