——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

From what i've seen so far i'm not too invested in it at all. We need some bigger maps on this beta to see how that is. I do wish movement / jumping / proning was all slowed down a bit.

So what are people's feelings then about the game?

Is it going to deliver or not?
I think it will deliver for many, releasing at a good time as there does seem to be some disillusionment around CoD currently so theres good opportunity there for a rival release.

On a more personal note, for me, its ok, nothing amazing and still not as good as the BF games of old (but better than recent BFs), however there might be a truth that I am railing against and that truth might well be that my gaming tastes have moved on and I am fighting against those tastes and trying to hang on to a BF gaming experience of the past , out of nostalgia and fondness of a game series that I once loved so much, instead of accepting that my tastes are different today to what they once were.

Deep eh ;)

Technically anyone playing already has been given "early access" to the Beta, which will become an Open Beta tomorrow. We're all playing a Beta version of the game.

The BF lot are a lot harder to please over the COD lot. And the COD lot are very very hard to please

People need to remember that this is a Beta.

People don't care which is the sad part, if a game developor/publisher did everything perfect. People will still find a way to complain. Ideally, they ignore the majority of useless feedback and make the game they want to make and fix the issues that count.

I'm blown away by the magnitude of you're words.

Brought a tear to my eye. :p

Somebody needs new screen lol
I've got a 4k 240hz OLED monitor, I just prefer playing FPS games on 24.5".

I was hoping we'd see more 24.5" 1440p monitors released but the AOC 300hz one that came out recently only had about 6 in stock in the UK...

The maps in this beta are the smallest maps in the game. I believe they've said the maps will be different for weekend 2, if that is the case then the weekend 2 maps will be bigger ones.

Only played a few hours so far. Other than some UI bugs, its running well, looks good, feels good most of the time. Some wonkyness with TTK/TTD.

Hoepfully they keep the aesthetics relatively grounded in military themes.

Mixed feelings here, infantry feels like cod+bf3+24, EA maps are way too small, heli - omfg, i think its even worst than bf24.
Performance - not bad rly, getting 100-120 on max settings, although getting directx errors every few min, managed to play only 1 full game.

Weirdo!

It's not a beta, it's early access
Wut? Like previous releases, yes ok technically you could say its not really Beta in the sense, more of a large scale stress playtest prior to release, still time to make minor tweaks and changes but a bit late in the development cycle for any fundamental changes.

I've played enough now to say I'll definitely be getting it on release. Will it deliver? For the majority, I think so. There will still be a lot of gamers who were there for the originals who will see this as a step in the right direction but maybe not far enough. Is it everything I was looking for? Probably not. However, its a solid enough game for me to want to sink time into. I'm enjoying the gameplay so far.
I've really started to get to grips with the map layouts, pacing and gunplay. Starting to get some decent rounds and actually feel like I'm being an asset rather than a hinderance to my team. Really hoping for some of the release maps to be bigger though and more open. as even Liberation Peak being the size it is ends up turning into a lane shooter majority of the time. I want maps that encourage dynamic and creative gameplay.
There is genuine potential here though. I look forward to seeing where it goes and what the Dev's do with the feedback from these Beta playtests will be the clincher.
