A legendary astronaut who commanded the almost doomed lunar mission has passed away at the age of 97.

im Lovell now gone, just like eil Armstrong and so many other great names from the NASA glory days. At least uzz Aldrin is still with us.

Was sad to hear this. RIP to a true legend.

All the NASA astronauts of that era had absolute balls of steel. The odds were well and truly stacked against them, but they still found the courage to step into the unknown.
