——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

First game and I like the feel of this game. As above, I don't tend to play fast paced FPS games but this is much more exciting and manageable than say Call of Duty. I do tend to start to lose concentration as the match progresses though, so my skill tends to plummet.

Just played it for 3 hours. Which I guess is a pretty good endorsement.

It's still fast paced, but not CoD fast - to me it feels about the same as BF3, which is probably still too quick for my aging reactions, but still not too bad. Weapons kill quickly which probably makes it feel fast paced because so far the maps are pretty enclosed - I often ran around a corner and came face to face with someone and was dead before I knew what was happening. Probably just because I'm used to a slower pace these days.

Some minor niggles - weapon bipod system could be smoother. I don't like how I automatically switch to my pistol when the magazine is empty (guess there's an option to disable that in settings?). Also, in three hours of playing, no one was using voice comms. Only other player I heard talking was the guy in my squad who left his mic open and had to be told to turn it off because we could hear his speakers.

330k cheaters, thats crazy numbers, goes to show just how widespread cheating is in online fps.
Going by my performance today, absolutely all of them were on my server looking at me >:[

I think some people need to manage expectations. We all have to remember that playstyles have evolved a lot over time too. CoD and other similar shooters have already let that genie out the bottle and people dont forget. Simply making a modernised BF3/4 will not bring back that experience.
What is concerning me is how loud the CoD crowd are being in feedback and how much the Devs may possibly be swayed to pander to that.

I agree with this. Modern F2P titles like Apex, Fortnite, Warzone etc all have sliding, diving and fast ttk in them. The devs of BF are taking some/all of these onboard in order to give non-BF veterans some of the movement they are already used to. I'm not saying I like it (the most advanced thing I do is go prone in any game, can't be bothered with sliding around everywhere like I'm on ice) but that's what they're doing in order to capture some of the audience from elsewhere.

Just be glad for the moment they haven't announced addiing ridiculous cross-overs like putting in Beavis and Butthead skins for operators in the store.

Agree with this. But i think its also rose tinted classes to an extent. People seem to think karkand used to be the bees knees. Ignoring the nade spam and constant dolphin diving.

I do feel the maps in the beta are too narrow however no real way to flank the opponent effectively or maybe its because im playing just with randoms or because ive only played breakthrough so far. Really need to try the conquest mode (will probably prefer the closed weapons one or whatever its called)

Only successes so far ive had is kind of sitting in my spot / little area and protecting that instead of the constant run and gun meatgrinder.

These smaller urban maps are just COD to me lol

honestly 75% of my deaths are just getting shot from behind or 90 to where im looking.

I dont think ive sworn this much is years. At the moment its fine but i can see myself getting meh with it pretty fastish.

I think the big maps will bring it back home i hope because just now its Team death match.

i hate the whole spotting system its very arcadey/cheesy. especially in the urban maps...

Its a me problem i think ive just grown up a bit, moved on to other games :P

Game is well designed and decent though.

Im remembering the Paris metro and Conquest in Beta bf3... that felt so awesome this is giving the vibes but 2nd time around its never as good as the first

This game is awesome. Runs like a dream and not a single stutter anywhere. Buildings blowing up, smoke everywhere, dozens of people running around and it's all buttery-smooth.
If you have a PS5 controller I strongly recommend using it, the haptics are fantastic and very immersive.

Getting around 130 fps with my 4080 @4K but performance doesn't feel good, it feels like it's running at sub 60 fps, getting a lot of stutters too :(
I had exactly the same thing. All settings maxed out, 9800X3D, 7900XTX, FPS was showing over 100 but the game was stuttering. Then I switched from Fullscreen to Borderless Window and it was fine. Guessing it's something to do with Freesync settings but haven't investigated further yet. Smooth as butter now, I've set the FPS limit to 120 and it doesn't budge .
