Did you test this with other controllers? I was wondering if this was related to one of your random Chinese brand controllers, that you use, that also require their own app?If the camera panning judder gets fixed whenever then I will explore getting the game again, at a reduced price

None of the controllers need their own app to play, only to configure any customisations, they are all 1000Hz polling though, and controller stick motion does not exhibit camera motion juddergenerally, only mouse movement, but in this game both mouse and controllers show the issue. This is also on controllers costing £229 right down to £45.Did you test this with other controllers? Ah my mistake, I skim read a review that you did the other week, and one of the replies to you was someone complaining that if it required 'another app' that they wouldn't bother with said controller. Ring any bells?
Have you tried it with an official Xbox or PS5 controller?
It just seems weird that you're the first one to mention this, I watched a Youtube review of it, and the guy played it with a controller on a PC, and was open about the hardware and fps he got, and there was no mention of this - I'll point out, that this was just a regular guy, and not some big channel or sponsored channel, so he didn't come across like the type that would hide any issues, as he pointed out any that he found, and gave it a fair rating based on the pros and cons that he outlayed.
Why do you think it didn't do it with the mouse?
I don't recall that comment, though have been occupied with a lot of stuff so probably forgot.
I have a DualSense (Phantom by Hexgaming, it uses DualSense internals with mods on top), yeah the controller doesn't matter, the game camera motion is bugged.
Most people don't notice these things, like with Last of Us, I was one of the first to say it had camera motion judder online, then weeks later the gaming media picked up on it too.
Different PCs will exhibit different variances as well, and not everyone’s eyes pick up on subtle things like that either. It's not noticeably obvious in this game like it was on past games, but it's there still as shown by the RTSS frametime graph activity. regardless of input device used.

I played some 5 hours, made it to chapter 4.
It is great. Is it some gameplay revolutionary thing? No. It is a third person shooter set in 1905 Sicily. It is Mafia game through and through. It has its own vibe and atmosphere compared to previous games, but the core of what Mafia is - focus on immersion and storytelling over everything else - is here. So far the writing is good, characters are likeable, the map where it takes place is beautifully designed.
The only thing slightly annoying me is the fact that it runs on UE5. It looks beautiful, but I bet that if it ran on Mafia Remake engine, it would still look similarly beautiful, but run twice as fast. I actually tested the two games and in native 4K (no DLSS) with all settings maxed, I get 90 fps in Mafia Remake. Same settings in Old Country, I get 28fps. I do not think Old Country looks three times better than Remake.
I am playing with controller on vsynced 60fps and get no judder, game is perfectly smooth. Would suggest trying limiting fps to screen refresh.

Screen refresh sync isn't the issue, the cam judder is a well documented UE5 and some others issue and is an optimisation thing devs need to do.. Anyway I am on a 240Hz OLED, the higher the refresh rate and framerates you go the more judder can manifest.
I actually finished this last night and I actually quite enjoyed it.
It wasn't the best game but it suited the type of game I wanted to play at the time. The story was pretty good and as someone who normally skips cutscenes I didn't skip one on this.
There's a lot of stealth missions but none were difficult and not all required you to be undetected so you could go in guns blazing if you wished.

Nice, so for £35 elsewhere for a key, it's worth it for what it is? This was my thinking.
Did you have any random crashes/bugs?
It's not going to win any awards, it holds your hand in a lot of places, but I enjoyed the story etc and the old style shooting. When you complete the game it opens up explore mode so you can go revist places.
There was the occasional graphic flixker, but not very often and only on a cutscene if I remember.
So for me it was worth it, I've spend much more and played a lot less on some games.

As I thought, good enough bang per buck for a very cheap game on release.Did you use a controller? Did you use V-Sync or cap your FPS?

What difficulty yiu play it on?
Standard/Normal can't remember what they call it.
I don't see why not. The only negatives are, that you maybe a bit underwhelmed with the ending, there's a fair bit of linear stealth, and that it's short - ala typical Mafia games.
For £30 for a key, why not. Even if you complete it in an evening or on a weekend. Cant really complain for that price
