Really liking our ionic 5 it’s been great so far. Ours is a 22 plate Ultimate AWD with Tech pack which is well worth getting one with as the wing mirror cameras are fantastic.

Warranty is 5 years unlimited mileage but make sure it’s had the 2024 service carried out otherwise Hyundai will void the warranty inc the 8 year battery warranty. It’s the main reason I got ours from Hyundai.

Surely you are confusing that with a 4 year coolant change for the battery?

Didn't even know there was a tech pack. I was trying to figure out if AWD would be beneficial. I don't care about the acceleration it offers, just from a safety pov over winter.

Mileage isn't that important in a BEV really, unless you are doing high mileage yearly and will quickly end the warranty. There are a good number of Ioniq 5 degradation tests out there showing lower than anticipated results after a few years and 40-60k miles

Here's on the was 40k miles with DC charging, doing 70mph

I thought for a minute that it was going to be a negative video, but it turns out the be positive. Which is nice. Choosing a car is a nightmare.

At my Ioniq 5s 20k service in July they did one of the "official" battery tests certificates. The result was my battery still at 100% capacity, checking with my OBD its more like 98.7% but that is comparing it with the whole 77kw and not the 74kw usable. My car has only had 5 or 6 DC chargers in its lifetime all the rest has been 7kw AC that maybe why.

They have to be serviced every 2 years or 20k or Hyundai won’t honor the warranty.

I found a nice one at a local dealer but when I enquired with Hyundai about servicing as it did not have the book they said without proof or a record with Hyundai any warranty would be void.

They are easy to spot if they have the tech pack as they have a camera in the front grill. It’s not standard on the Ultimate and was an option when new. It’s well worth getting one with it if you can.

I have a Snow mode on mine but no idea how good it is as only had it a week and no snow yet….. :D

Oh so you are just talking about the normal service then, most Hyundai's have digital service books now and nothing on paper. You can ask Hyundai via their customer support before buying a car and they will tell you the status of the services and if the car has missed them, no need to buy from a Hyundai dealer to check this at all, if you were told this they are just talking rubbish.

Mine has a service book.

Buying from a Hyundai dealer it should have been serviced. I was just saying make sure wherever you buy from it has had the service to keep the 5 year car and 8 year battery warranty.

Still can't charge the car. Last night I got the same error so I plugged in my trusty power monitor and it read that the supply was fluctuating between 255.7v and 256.4v. Checked again this morning and it was now reading a solid 256.9v, checked next door and it was the same. Phoned SSEN again and they logged the details and said a engineer will be on his way shortly so hopefully this will be sorted out soon. I have a granny charger but with the overvoltage I really don't want to risk trying that overnight. What a state, we get too much power while other poor devils have had none at all!!
