——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Curious to your age?

I'm 40 next year and think its plays very well. Not too fast at all.
I'm well beyond 40 and I think its too fast, equally I am sure they are others who are well beyond 40 who dont think its too fast.....much like the saying "I'm old" its a very individualistic term, dont think you can necessarily put a number on it

Just ahead of you at 41.

I think im just stuck in nostalgia, like many and remember life before ...well responsibilities and kids :D

Maybe BF3 and BF2 was this speed? Just now with improved graphics, much less time and only late evening opportunities makes it feel miles apart.
As I get older I definitely feel as though I’ve gotta keep my hand in otherwise I do struggle.

Taking over a month off of COD means when I do jump back in I’m canon fodder for the first few games.

Tis like riding a bike though. After a while it all comes back.

Most fun I have had on and FPS since Battlefield 4, and cannot wait for next weekend and hopefully a patch in-between with some fixes.

The pistol though is a bit under powered and the game though faster paced, than BF 4, I did not mind this and felt it added to the chaos.

I've quite enjoyed it from what I've seen. Things I really do want to see though:

1. A compass
2. Ability to select squad leader from lobby
3. Maybe because I'm old but I'm really struggling to quickly tell friend from enemy because they look so similar.

I don't want much tbh.

There is a compass, its off by default for some reason and its buried in graphics > interface > advanced, show compass, or something like that

I'm sure I saw compass in the settings but it was off by default. Have a look.

BF6 GPU benchmarks.

Played it for a good few hours with a friend from the BF3 days. It did feel like battlefield, I like the TTK, the gun play, the classes etc. I had a great time. We played conquest with locked guns and it definitely had much more medics reviving, engineers repairing and recons pushing with beacons. I reckon the veteran battlefield fans gravitated towards it.

The feedback I'd give is:
Sort those menus out, they're so messy and confusing. At the start I changed the hit indicator to be bright blue and haven't worked out how to change it back.
That peak map is awful, far too small for good vehicle gameplay and yet too many holes for snipers to hide.
Heli controls felt horrible compared to 3 & 4. The flying bathtub actually controlled like a bathtub and you can't see anything in first person.
You can't easily tell the classes apart when fighting. In 3, 4 and 1 you knew if you saw a medic, assault etc as they were very distinct - not in 6.
Swap the SMGs to be all classes and carbines for engineer. SMGs do not suit the environment where you'd play an engineer so just won't get used.
Buff squad play a bit. In BF1 you would get so many points for playing with your squad, capping objectives, healing, spotting etc. These points unlocked fairly decent perks. You could also take the squad leader position if your leader didn't give orders.

My main worry is that vehicles won't get much love as the vast majority of players don't use them.

I hope beta 2 and the full game has much bigger maps. I liked the two urban maps this weekend but I want bigger as well.

This game is finally making me feel old (53). It's so fast I can barely keep up. Doing ok though and enjoyed the beta once I got my binds sorted to my preference.

The game is clearly made for the adhd kiddies and streamers. If someone told me COD tried to make a Battlfield I would believe them.

I only played 30 mins and went back to BF4.

The animations are way too quick, grenade throw is like a COD copy. I watched a streamer jump over a ledge while firing full auto , reload and throw a grenade in the space of 1.5 seconds, it's insane the game is clearly made for spawn, kill or be killed and deliver that dopamine hit to the kiddies, only a matter of time before beavis and butthead skins are running around. Soldier has no heft to him like in BF4 you could hear the gear on him and his breathing. I feel like I'm on rollerblades and the enemy looks like they're skating too. There is no time to even strategise in the madness, some could say metro on bf4 was crazy like that too but even in it''s madness Metro had clear defined fronts and you could still plot a little plan.

Not to mention the awful matchmaking.

Screw Dice and EA.

I've been having a blast with this and I think I realise why, It's because i've been playing in squads with likemended players like me. All putting in team work, capping and reviving and so on.

It's really reminded me how fun BF can be, I grabbed a few games late last night where I just joined solo and ended up in random squads. The first squad had a leader that was flying jets thinking he was Maverick but judging by his score he was more like Chopper Harley. The other two players were snipers that were just up in the middle of no where not doing anything... I was bored off my hairy mits.

Out of 4 games with randoms only 1 was with a group of players I would say knew how to play the game.

Just goes to show it's down to players as well as devs on how enjoyable this game is.
