What's the going rate for an individual person, say for 2-3 photos, if anyone has had one done in the past year? I had a quote for £150+VAT, which was way more than I expected, and they live in the same village as me so no travel expenses!

It's for LinkedIn, CV, etc, and I know I could use AI, but as a amateur photographer myself, I would rather not use it unless a last resort.

That seems like a reasonable rate for a skilled professional's time for a task that requires a significant amount of expensive kit, and space, tbh.

If you think that's too steep then maybe just find somewhere in your house with good light (or move some lights around) and get someone to take one with your kit. Albeit you won't have a professional who knows how to get a decent natural looking shot and will have to rely on your own innate good looks and charm ;)

I had a friend offer £75+VAT a few years back, but he's moved onto to other aspects of professional photography these days, so I hence I expected it to be under £100.

I've got most of the the necessary kit myself, so could potentially ask my brother to just take the shot if I can set it up. But we won't reach the standards of a pro.

If someone did it at mates rates several years ago and it was only slightly under £100 then, why would you assume the going full price rate would be under £100 now? Doesn't sound like particularly logical reasoning to me.

It wasn't mates rates for me personally, it was what he advertised at on social, from memory. But it could have been lower due to it being Covid times perhaps.

If it's the going rate, that's fair, hence I am asking.

I managed to blag a professional doing shots at one of the places I worked at. It still looks like me so I can live with that.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Equipment / time / lighting rig / processing... at least an hour/two hours probably work wise.

Think of it another way - what would you charge in your job for a couple of hours work??
