Me and some friends are going to Manchester for the weekend (2 nights) and I might volunteer to drive. Is there good parking spots around the Station or north of the Station? We are staying at Hilton Road M1 1JJ so anything half a mile radius should be fine.

Or should I take the train? but it's £60 return ticket from where i am and it seems driving is cheaper when split between the 3 of us.

There’s a few options, I’d probably opt for the Q park across the road from the station, a 10 minute walk to where you’re staying.

I've been looking as well for a weekend away in October. As said there's parking right next to Piccadilly and it was coming up at about £40 for 48 hours when I looked.

are you planning to use your car during the period?

There’s plenty of free street parking in the suburbs of Manchester, then metro tram into town. I would suggest parking in a nice area like Sale or stretford (not on a match day), then using the tram to get into town.

TBH public transport is ace in greater Manchester and it’s probably easier than trying to find places to park.

Last time I drove to Manchester City centre, I was hit with a £30 pound parking ticket. It’s normally cheap(ish) for the first 2 hours then the price jumps to stupid rates after that, but with a heavily pregnant friend, there was no other options.

There are also all day car parks for around 10 pounds a day.. but those are more design for workers in town.

There is the option to rent someone’s drive for a few days, my nephew who lives near city ground rents his out for match days.

After watching what Manchester looks like with Charlie Veitch i wouldnt want to be staying there! Lol

I'd second the park outside & get the tram in & back out. Unless you're planning on using the car a lot whilst there, that's probably the cheapest way.

If you don't mind a little walk (10 mins max), I would park on the big open car park on Rochdale road, M4 4JA. PayByPhone Code 809410.

It's coming up as £12 for 2 days parking and there's loads of space. I love about 4 miles north and we use the car park all the time as it's cheaper than getting public transport in.

Nowadays that area is pretty much part of town anyway. It's 10 mins from the Northern Quarter / Amcoats

I used Q-Park on First street the other day, parked 09:00-16:00 the next day for 30 quid, 10min brisk walk to Piccadilly.

Probably cheaper at the weekend.
