Not really, we put in a bid above a noted gentleman's agreement. Which was rejected on the grounds of the player not being for sale due to lack of replacement.
What you'll not find is the multiple twitter posts, youtube videos and podcast segments from our pal Fabrizio staying that "it's a saga", "it's definately on", "Newcastle will bid when Brentford open the doors", "Wissa says he'll never play again", "a bid is definately coming", "this saga is still on" etc etc .
You then won't find similar stories regurtitated by Sky, talksport etc.
You will with Isak, every day since July 1st.

Their propaganda machine been going since the got their arse handed to them in the cup final.
When the bid went in, the value was understood to be 30Million, with a year left on his contract.
Again, it's not the same as trying to unsettle a player with 3 years left.

Which all teams do when they want a player.
What's different then, you've bid a low amount, unsettled the player and you've not been back with another bid. What you waiting for? another team to come in a steal him or something.
And don't say we are waiting for Brentford to get a replacement as you can say Liverpool are doing the same.
Well for a start we don’t have massive amounts of headroom because of PSR. We needed 3-4 players before the Isak situation kicked off. Every penny counts.
Newcastle were lead to believe that Wissa was available. Both clubs are still negotiating and Brentford will probably end up getting closer to what they asked for. If they manage to get a replacement.
Don’t think I’ve seen any Newcastle fan lauding it up here because of the way Wissa has been acting compared to in here from Liverpool fans and Isak.
We’re probably 15million short of Brentford valuation. Liverpool 40+ off.

As Monty already said, we offered the gentleman’s agreement, which they rejected, your offer was an insult, we have always maintained he wasn’t for sale so said it would take an offer of £150m to get us to the table, you offered £40m under that.
Hard to be 40 million off when the player is valued at 40.
150 value, offer 110, declined. Normally then it would be 120, declined and then probably 130 plus add ons and all done. Meet in the middle.
Wissa will probably go for 32-35 so kind of in the middle again.
Happens loads like that
Liverpool offered 84 million for Wirtz and what did he go for in the end. Bayer wanted £125, so the magic 40 million short again. You're talking like no team ever lowballs the first offer. All teams do, just some teams are far better at it and can get deals done.

Here ones for you. Newcastle stance was Isak not for sale unless they received a ridiculous offer. That hasn’t happened.
It will be a ridiculous offer if its 130 plus.
So if Newcastle had managed to buy a forward since you reckon Liverpool still wouldn't have bid again?
