At RRP which is the best card 9070xt, 5070ti and 5080?

I am wondering the same thing so am interested to hear the outcome. I was thinking that the 9070xt seems like the best bang for buck, but I keep getting swayed.

What games do you mainly play? Do you game at higher resolutions etc?

People tend to give blanket responses but it's not really helpful to the end user, it's an individual case-by-case argument.

Nothing is black and white and you'd do yourself a disservice by following blind consensus, and while both the 9070XT and 5070TI are similarly performing cards you could be throwing yourself down a pit for the sake of ignorance. If you're unsure ask and detail your needs:

I have and will continue to recommend both cards but context is super important.

In games like CoD that favour raw rasterization performance a 9070 can match a 5080 or even 5090 for a fraction of the cost, and while that is an extreme things skew both ways depending on games to an extent. I know of people who spent two grand on a 5080 for worse performance in CoD than a 9070 for a fraction of the price.

At true MSRP (I preface this with the fact I have not checked current pricing) then the 9070XT is the pick of the bunch.

I say this owning a 5070Ti I got at MSRP when the 9070XT was still massively over its MSRP and priced within £20 of the 5070Ti. They perform within spitting distance of one another (PT aside) and at the time you just bought on the feature set that mattered to you.

The 5080 is a total nothing burger at its MSRP. Whilst it does perform faster than the 9070XT/5070Ti, it doesn't do so in any meaningful way - i.e. you might net an extra 10FPS when already hitting 100..

The fact that the 5070 Ti can be got for under it's £729 RRP on here is something people should take advantage of to be honest. I was looking at getting a 9070 XT but there aren't any for RRP(£570) on Overclockers, so I will probably go for 5070 Ti or Ti Super if the rumours are true.

Get the 5070ti unless the 9070XT is £100 cheaper, forget the 5080 as that is nearly £300 more for 15% more performance which doesn’t make sense.

The 5070 Ti is not worth £100 extra. For the 5070 Ti to make sense it needs to be a very RT focused game and about £50 price difference for me.

Shop around and you see the 9070XT can be found about £80 cheaper. That is not insignificant at the price point.

It was obvious AMD were outright lying about the MSRP but £590 is a good price given the performance.

The thing is that you would probably get that £80 back on resale value as Nvidia cards tends to hold their price better so long as they have enough VRAM.

I'd sort of agree and don't really rate DLSS or RT both of which are better with Nvidia but at £70 I'd still swing 5070ti and as Joxeon says resale value would almost certainly be higher.

Well each to their own and you are entitled to apply any Nvidia tax you desire. But IMHO the resale value thing is based purely on feels and really has never applied at the mid range. The Nvidia benefits are significantly reduced, a 5000 series GPU in 3 or 4 years will not be remembered fondly. Especially considering the silly money paid for them a few short months ago.

9070 range for MSRP was barely any better for price gouging, but at least it was a fairer price to begin with.
