It's too hot :(

Starting to think Stoke is the cloudiest place in England. Barely seen any sunshine since the second week of July. Even this heatwave was supposed to be sunny and yet it's mostly cloudy at best and now raining. It's so dark that people have their lights on.

Even as a massive pessimist of British summers, I didn't quite expect it to 180 this year and get this ******* bad!

*Grabs sad lamp that's been in use for most of the last few weeks and mopes*
You must live in an alternative universe to the rest of us.

Finally decided to open a window at 30c in home office.
Gf doesn't understand how I can take it.

I’d been using my portable AC on the landing to trickle down some cool air for the downstairs. It was reasonably ok but I just bit the bullet and move it to my office. Unbearable today !

Not sure where this heatwave is - been a bit stuffy/humid today and moderately warm. Looks like next weekend will be quite nice.

Feels horribly stuffy in our lounge, still 28.7C this evening, trying to find energy to head out for a gentle ebike ride as it's 24C outdoors apparently.

Thankfully back to mid 20s tomorrow.

But now forecasting 30C in Hampshire on Friday!

Yup same had it running pretty much all day, solar has helped but they do use a fair bit of juice, worth it I suppose for the few weeks or so you need it.

Do you guys use any portable AC units? I've had a quick look at some, all seems to be out of stock.

Currently upstairs and it's like a sauna

Yes, but you need a window or door that you can rig to run the exhaust hose out of.

Also, they ain’t that quiet, so if you can’t sleep with a regular fan running, you won’t sleep with a portable A/C unit running in the bedroom.

I sleep with the good old floor fan blowing the warm at everywhere.

Can't you just run the AC for a few hours before bed then turn it off once the rooms a bit cooler?
