——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Even if it does all the things you just listed as wants?

If the portal sideshow can have its own server browser then it shouldn't be hard to have it for the main game. Right now its not entirely clear what they're doing with regard to a server browser. In the last turd from what I recall portal was its own thing outside of the main game, maybe that changed down the line, I've no idea I played it for less than 50 hours before removing it. I'll wait and see if dice give any more clarity around this before making a decision, but I'd prefer it as a main game option as it always has been with the exception of that joke 2042.

From what I've read so far, theres a reasonable chance that it could have the things you listed , however I think from whats been said so far that there is zero chance that it wont be in portal. So if the issue is not just the server browser aspects but also that it must not be in portal then I think thats BF6 off the table for you.

Thanks for clarifying though, as like I say, lots of people keep saying just "server browser" but not saying exactly what they mean.

Even if you can create your own servers on it? What about if you could create a server, pick the maps, set the server rules etc, but its in portal, would that still be a game killer? Isnt that then pretty much the same as the non-portal server browser?
you gotta remember most people wont muck about doing all that. they just want to dive in as fast as possible with friends. they did portal before who really played it ? not many really.they just stick to the main game

Then irrespective of what options the server browser will have, BF6 will be a no-go for you because everything said so far has indicated that the server browser will be in portal. I'm 100% certain it will be, which of course means that no matter what options for the server browser itself are there, its a game breaker for those who dont want anything to do with portal.

On the plus side, at least thats £60 saved for those people to use on one of the many top titles yet to come this year , silver linings and all that :)

im sure you played battlefield prior to the last few titles. server browsers were a normal thing. if its just being added to portal then its a after thought. which shows how little they understand what the bf community wants. im fine either way ive always got pubg to play :p

Hey all, so I worked out the sprint speeds in Battlefield 6, you can see them detailed above and compared to the previous Battlefield games. I have linked the full video below for those who wish to check it out and see how I did the testing, but all is detailed here:

Base sprint: 5.99 m/s (due to standing start I suspect this to be 6.0 or 6.04 like BF1 and BFV)
Knife Sprint: 7.12 m/s (again due to starting start and method of testing this is likely 7.15)
Defibs / Sidearm: No different to base sprint speed
Adrenaline Boost: 6.20 m/s over a period of about 40m

I think a lot of people pre-order because they know they're going to buy it anyway - and they have the money now to do so. Who knows in 2 months if that 60 quid or so might have been spent on something else?

There's also the nostalgic feel of pre-ordering - although a good % of most gamers now never would have queued outside of a Blockbuster or Game to pickup a game at midnight so maybe that one is less relevant...!
Yeah I understand that. Pre ordering used to mean something as potentially you could miss out if stock ran out and it was exciting. But these days there's almost no point and I get why people do it from an excitement/nostalgic perspective but if you pre order early, it's essentially giving a multi million pound corporation your hard earned money for them to earn interest from and you get in return.... absolutely nothing?

Pre ordering the day before makes sense but months in advance is crazy imo

Preordering so far in advance in these days of digital downloads is a head scratcher for me too. At least do it from a place like CDkeys where it can be £10+ cheaper than the full asking price direct from steam. The only downside is you don't get the luxury of cancelling your pre-order and then the 2hr refund after launch.

Yeah I think if you're pre ordering something you might want to cancel before you've played it for 2 hours then you probably need to question your judgement / buying habits. This happened to me with Starfield; last time I ever pre ordered a game purely based on hype and I'll never be doing that again. Harsh lesson learned.

That all said I'm confident I'll like BF6 after rinsing the beta.

If I didn't have game pass then I would have been right there with you. I wanted Bethesda to come back from the mild disappointment that was FO76 but somehow SF was just as mediocre. Hopefully they can get it right with ES6.
