He emptied the gas taken trying to finish De Ridder. We all love Rob but lets face it, he's no longer championship material and a another title run was not realistic. If I was him I would retire very soon while I still have my health and before he tarnishes his legacy. Pretty sure he could make money purely from streaming.

Yeah I thought that too, its just he did pull back since It looked like he wasn't gonna get the finish. Still found it a bit odd after 2ish rounds he never mustered the energy to make a go of it end of r5.

Yeah based on that performance he should be looking to retire, been saying the same thing with izzy last few fights also.

So who's getting Paramount and a VPN subscription? :D
Probably everyone, not being funny but what a deal!
This sort of deal is how you really combat the illegal streamers, make it actually accessible. Yes a good amount will still illegal stream, but that takes away quite a barrier for most.
Think it was something like £1000 to watch all UFC's across a year, this deal takes it to like £100, plus VPN costs.

Why are they doing something stupid like putting all UFCs on PPV here?

UFC PPV as of 2026 no longer exists, every single numbered event is being streamed live on Paramount+

It's going to stop me consuming it in unscrupulous ways, well the new manner of "moving to the USA" could be viewed as unscrupulous, but I'm more than happy to pay $119.99 for an annual subscription to a service which gives me all UFC events.

Moving forward with the times and its a massive deal for the business?

Same here.
Its like going back 20 years in terms of real cost per person to watch each UFC event.

Very interesting, I can't recall the last PPV UFC UK event its been that long but hopefully its gone for good with the paramount deal. PPV for UFC in the UK makes no sense anyhow since very few would stay up till 5-6am!

The only issue is has anyone tried and tested it with vpn and paramount? They could easily block it like most major streaming platforms already do

Is it only Paramount in the US? My mrs works for Mars so we get it for free due to some sponsorship they did with M&Ms last year. Hopefully we get it too as other than Mobland and South Park there is barely anything on it worth watching.

I frequently buy the PPVs as the time difference to us makes it perfect. Midday start on a Sunday.

Have not tried it yet.
But suspect it'll be in VPN providers interest to be able to provide such a service for this content.

Wouldn't if be the opposite? I could imagine many countries around the world going the vpn+paramount trick if its not vpn blacklisted already.

Even ufc fight pass the tech team few years ago finally figured out how to black list all vpns and they are the most clueless support team going.

Edit, its already VPN blocked it seems according to google:

Paramount+ can block VPNs, especially those using shared IP addresses. If you're experiencing issues accessing Paramount+ with a VPN, it's likely due to the platform detecting and blocking your VPN's IP address

also reddit post here a year ago mentioned difficulties

If you do test it maybe just take a 1 month sub or free trial perhaps and see if you have any luck.

Its such a weird fight, DDP either rolls but the fights so odd I could see Khamzat levelling up, surprising all and giving the champ a good fight and even winning it.

I skipped the two previous fights to watch the main event. Don’t think spoilers are necessary in this thread, don’t want spoilers, don’t click :P

Bad style clash from an entertainment point of view. Managed to avoid the submissions which is more than most, but his wrestling defence was pretty poor, I don’t see a rematch ending any other way.

Not sure who’s going to beat him tbh, could end up with a Khabib record.

Thought there was no way could last 5 rounds, but showed us he has 25 minutes of pure grappling cardio. Set records I believe for 2nd most ground strikes.

Very weird performance though, Dricus to me felt the most well rounded champ we have seen for quite a while and we know he had 25 minutes of cardio. It just turned up Kham had it even more in him.

I think there are very few people with the wrestling skills to match Khamzat. He's an absolute beast, incredibly strong, rag-dolling someone the size of DDP over 5 rounds, and just utterly dominating him.

Must be so demoralizing to be a proper champ, and you can't even get to your feet, every time you do manage to get up, you just get bullied back down and crucifixed and beat down for 5 minutes.

Think it would be good to see how Adesanya tries to deal with him, would be a more interesting matchup.
