iam just not sure, the difference in price is £54, its a much stronger watch plus has more memory,I've got the 47mm pro standard edition and its a great watch. There isn't really much difference other than the screen and bezel on the sapphire. If you worry about scratches or want the slightly lighter watch from the titanium bezel then pay for the sapphire. It's a watch designed to be worn on rugged activities so you might get it scratched. I personally can live with that.
do you want to download every golf course? if you think you'd use extra memory great I guess. I've not bothered downloading music or much in the way of maps. had a few faces, but nothing much on that side of things interested me. I think most people use it for the fitness metrics and good battery compared to eg apple watch. I don't think there is much in it. I got mine 2nd hand so better value was personally more important. they're great watches thoughplus more memory.
I just realised i was looking at the wrong size and colour,. garmin epix™ Pro (Gen 2) 47 to Standard Edition v epix™ Pro (Gen 2) – Sapphire Edition | 47 mmI have the non sapphire 51mm and it has picked up a few scratches. Previously had the fenix 5 sapphire and in 5 years it had no scratches. I guess it comes down to how much it would bother you. If it were me for that much extra I would do sapphire.
nice watchH Samuel had a good deal on carbon epix 47mm.
was this or saphire 51mm onlive...went in and 51mm was defo too big...so 47 it was.
Friday evening H was still showing sale prive of 369 and so was the shop in the morning... got home and sale was over...

i would go mips if my eye sight would not be going(glasses already ) my fenix 5 lasted silly amount of time even at its ageMIPS for the win. The one time the slightly cheaper, is considerably better
It’s a proper utility watch. Not a smartwatch.
I have my 7 pro and it lasts 4 weeks on my settings with a few activities every month with GPS.
Anything that needs charging more often than a fortnight ain’t for me.
They won’t I don’t think. Too much support in the garmin community that actually use the watch for its true intended purpose.Love the MIPS display on my Fenix 6 Pro. Want to keep that watch for another couple of years as it's still basically like new, despite being used as my running watch and my bike computer (circa 150-200km a week in total). I'll be very sad if they've fully phased out MIPS by the time I come to geta a new one.
