Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

£1500 more on the value.

Guy seemed liked such a honest decent guy.
So he’s had a lot of interest at that price and reckons he can get more or someone has made him a better offer? (Maybe)

Either way, I wouldn’t entertain it personally. I had something similar once but for a house.

Ultimately your choice. Presumably you didn’t get anything in writing in terms of bill of sale?

It’s weird because while a horrible thing to do, you’d think he’d instead get a deposit from someone else for a bigger offer, rather than going to the original buyer for more.

Yep, I guess he has had a few calls, really out of line. we had it all in writing, I have paid the insurance and everything.

what goes around comes around I guess.
**** that guy. He doesn't deserve your money. Let's hope someone else messes him around like he has done to you.

Tyres, or more specifically Porsche 'rated tyres'.

I'm a first time Porsche owner and the car is still under the original Porsche warranty with just over 2 years to go. I'll likely extend the warranty after that.

With my M340i, I fitted Pilot Sport 4S tyres which were BMW * marked. Again, the M340i was under warranty and I know there are two camps who will argue whether BMW approved tyres are needed in relation to any potential warranty claims (particularly for drivetrain issues) so I think to err on the side of safety I'll stick with Porsche approved tyres (N rated I believe?).

Maybe my GoogleFu is weak but N rated tyres seem to be thin on the ground choice wise? I've found sets of P Zero's and some Goodyears but not any PS4S's or similar.

As Porsche owners, if we want to stick with N rated tyres are we limited for choice in the open market? Maybe buying tyres direct from the OPC is needed?

As I said, first time Porsche owner so maybe the above set of questions is daft :)

If you buy tyres from an OPC, you will get absolutely shafted.

@Draeger - it can be hit and miss depending on the dealership I think. When I enquired at my soon to be local dealership they explicitly said that I would need N rated tyres to extend the warranty. With that and the cost of the inspection, major service and removing the aftermarket Bluetooth hands free kit, I elected to “bank” the costs and go with an independent rather than extend the warranty. My car was a bit older, and didn’t have an existing warranty running at the time.

MPS4S have been amazing on the 911 and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. There are other well rated newer options from other brands too.

Speak with your dealer and if you don’t get the answer you want, speak to another one!

Am I correct in thinking that in the My Porsche App, your cars identity is recorded using the VIN number and the actual registration number isn't recorded anywhere? I've bought a cherished number to assign to the car, but I can't see its current registration number listed anywhere within the My Porsche app or online via the web in Porsche Connect?

Am I correct? Am I good to swap the registrations over once I've gone through the DVLA process and informed my insurance company? Probably be an idea to let my preferred OPC know too?

Thanks.

well, I gave it some thought and ended up paying the extra.

It's a little bit of unseal colour, but more than anything I don't have the time or will to look at more cars. It's really bad behaviour but I caved.

on the other hand, love the car. needs a bit of a clean up but seems like a good car.

Cheeky crosspost from the 'Show us your motors!' thread!

My new wagon. Replaced an M340i Touring. Loving it so far, M340i was fun but the performance on this is staggering. New EV owner so all that shenanigans will take a bit of getting used to.

Taycan GTS ST, Ice Grey Metallic :)

Nice that is, saw your thread on PH.

Really really nice spec! But don’t do what I did and have it as a garage queen :( I was always afraid of putting miles on the car

I absolutely will not be doing that. It will be out 365 days a year if needed. I don't understand the obsession with ultra low mile cars that never get used and are bought for 'perfect spec' reasons to sit in a collection.
