So I was playing around with parts that I favour brand wise etc but there could be better parts that are better value per performance or I could have picked the most stupid parts ever.

My basket at OcUK:

Case: I'd look at Antec's C5 ARGB, since it includes a lot of fans and similar(ish) looks. I couldn't establish from Lian Li's website exactly what comes bundled with the case (if anything?).

The CPU cooler is personal choice, but you have to buy your own fans and since a peerless assassin can cool that CPU, it seems like an expensive way to do it?

Nice looking card, but nearly 5080 money. Not be keen on paying that much myself.

£126 on 3 fans? good gravy that's poor value for money. Same for the SSD, just get something like the SN850X which is plenty fast enough and £145 and not £225.

There are also many cheaper white AIOs that will work fine for a 9800X3D and that 5070 ti is terrible value for the price.

Plenty of white 9070XTs starting at £600, there is an arguement for slightly higher prices on Nvidia cards due to feature set but this £290 difference is hard to justify.

Also, don't get an Asrock board with a 9800X3D, it's not worth the risk. They're still apparently killing CPUs.
You also don't NEED a white PSU with that case as it'll be hidden anyway, only saves £10 though.
GPU wise I'd use the 3090 then wait for the Supers to come out rather than drop a grand on a 5080.

Any suggestion for the board?

Did you get any clarity on this?

I find Lian Li's website as confusing as yesterday.

There is a version which has the label: V100R and that does include fans (4x120mm) and OCUK's listing, the product images and the manufacturer part number suggest the case is V100R.

Like you mentioned there is a version without fans etc. I'm led to believe this one has them but will give them a call before i do order!

vector doesn't come with any fans, so you havent put any addition in that last build...vector doesn't come with any dust filters either. I am a fan of form facor though having a nv5 build. than antec c3 is same form factor with dust filters, same as the corsair 3500x cases.
you dead set on that aio? or just you want a lcd screen for pump head? and you dead set on lian li fans etc?

I've looked into this and I'm going to have to agree since Asrock claimed that they fixed it with a new BIOS but people seem to be still having issues and Asrock were forced to admit they still hadn't fixed the issue.

There is an updated BIOS for the X870 Pro RS Wifi that addresses the issue but I guess time will tell.

Edit There are a few as an option

white build with a 9070xt...a 5070ti in white cheapest on ocuk was £830, asnd seeing in raster 9070just pips the 5070ti last tests on hu, not worth the £180 extra over the pulse
put 32gb ram in..seeing as theres a x3d cpu in there can actually go a lot cheaper getting 6000c36 ram, rgb for £109, non rgb for £80. if you're general gaming 64gb s so much overkill, save the money...those that need 64gb for specific game no about it when buying. I don't have any games that come close to maxing out 32gb..by the time games come requiring it as standard, we'll prob be on am6 and that'll be ddr6 ram as standard by then
360mm aio..basically any will cool a 9800x3d...but the thermaright below isn't too expensive with an lcd screen
antec c3 populates all the other cooling slots with fans so away you go. below is more than enough for 1440p gaming

if you're set on lian li fans or more premium case, i'd go phanteks nv5 case..no fans so choose what you want but it's premium build, rubber gromits on all the gaps etc..the vector is a budget case, so skimps on those things..
5080 overkill i think and getting to point(£1k for card), that it should come with more vram..16gb for a £1k card isn't good enough...also, performance isn't worth the cost increase anyway, in my view

Not too fussed just liked the idea of less cables etc, the aio looked like it would show minimal tubing as it tucked down the side.

fair enough..sorry also just checked again and the vector comes with 4 fans also, so you were right, just the aio need in top...i like the look, just were I am dust filters are a must...still wouldn't pay £1080 for a 5080 though price/performance is too poor at that price

So what youre saying is to go for a full fat RTX 5090?

@JollyJamma would that Lian Li Vector V100 case, clear a thicker Arctic Liquid Freezer III 320MM AIO then? If so that's very good value for a cheap case, I was under the impression most mid towers were a right off for any of the 65MM thick Arctic AIO rad/fan clearances?

I’m need to look at the manual. I know that the thicker rads do better but are a pain to fit.

I don’t off the top of my head recall what that chassis can fit.
