Which 27" 4K QD-OLED Monitor?

Its would be 1 USB from PC to USB switch, 1 USB from laptop to USB switch, 1 USB from console to USB switch and 1 USB cable from switch to speakers.

Position the switch behind the monitor in an easy to reach place and bosh! Problem solved.

Would be a bit annoying having two cables for laptop instead of one but I guess its manageable. However with consoles presumably I’d need to spilt the video and audio signals as I’d assume stuff like the Nintendo switch won’t connect directly to a usb dock?

It would be helpful if up guys could point at a specific device/model so I know what you mean by reading the specs?

Not sure how I'd route

Displayport sources, 4K 200hz, VRR
HDMI sources 4K 120hz
USB audio sources

As simpelest as possible, with the minimal amount of video/audio input switching, ie just one switch

AVR, that has USB input?
Send all generic HDMI devices like consoles through the AVR.
For mac use AVR USB input
for PC use coaxial/optical for audio, displayport direct to monitor. You could try HDMI audio instead but I've had issues with that, as it sees the two outputs (Displayport and HDMI) as a second monitor so it uses dual screen even though you only need audio from the HDMI

Switching AVR for audio/video as needed, and TV video as needed. Not many AVR's have USB input.

Yeah, sounds like there’s too many variables to consider with multiple device types connected which is why I was keen to stick with sending the audio via the monitor input somehow.

The Emotiva AVR has USB input, so really all you would need to do is switch input on the AVR and the monitor, between displayport and HDMI.

So not too bad.

I used to have HDMI switch, then DAC and integrated amp so had tons of input switching, that was OTT.

Either way you'd need to switch inputs going from USB audio to HDMI, etc

I'm planning on making the jump from 1440p IPS to 4K OLED and wondered which monitor would be the best option? There seem to be a variety of models (Asus, Alienware/Dell, Gigabyte, MSI, etc) ranging from ~£700-900.

I believe all of them use the same glossy QD-OLED panel at 240Hz so presumably which is best willl just come down to features and pricing? I'm planning on connecting my gaming PC, Macbook Air (so USB-C/Displayport would be handy) and my Nintendo Switch to the monitor. So I'd also need it to have audio output of somekind. Unfortuantely most 27" OLED monitors don't seem to come with speakers so I'd need something connected to the 3.5mm out or possibly an e-arc soundbar?

Any recommendations or models to avoid based on my requirements?

MSI 27" MPG 272URX QD-OLED 3840x2160 240Hz

How about this

A few days ago I went through the same process, looking for a 27inch OLED and after reading a ton of reviews and user opinions, I ended up purchasing the Philips 27 inch OLED. It was the price that made my decision for me in the end. Having a 360Hz refresh rate for a lot cheaper than most other models was just too good to pass up.

This monitor has speakers built in and I think it fits most of the rest of your requirements, apart from having no USB C. It has Display port though and two HDMI ports. It doesn't come with a KVM, but it does have a powered USB port. Also you can install their precision center app and control all the monitor's function from the desktop.

My monitor arrives today, so I will report back when I get it setup and see if it's any good.

EDIT: Just as I finished the writing this post, the delivery guy arrived with the monitor!! :D

I'm in a similar boat too, I want to downsize from 42" c2 oled and need a 27 or 32 with speakers as kids use it for tv and ps5.
Samsung one would be perfect but its a matt screen and the new lg true black glossy looks great but no speakers.

Tempted to get the samsung and de screen coat it.

That monitor looks good but I'm after a 27" 4K (3840 x 2160) OLED display rather than a 1440p one!

Yeah, it's surprising that the Samsung display is matt as every other similar 27" model is glossy which I much prefer. Annoying as I believe the Samsung display has built in speakers (and I rate their quality as a brand) so it would have been ideal if it were glossy :(
