I can identify as a boat, it doesn't mean I am one - guess what the definition of me doing that would be? Pretending! You know, just like that thing we did as kids? Then when you do it as a job it's called acting...

There is, identifying as something involves a genuine, internal sense that this is who or what you are. It's about your core understanding of your identity, often accompanied by a felt sense of authenticity when expressing or living as that identity. This identification typically persists across contexts and time, even if the expression of it varies.

Pretending to be something is a deliberate, conscious performance or role-playing where you knowingly present yourself as something you don't internally believe yourself to be. It's temporary, contextual, and involves an awareness of the gap between your "real" self and the role you're playing.

Imagine imagining someone identifying as having the imaginary imagination required to allow them to be able to imaginatively imagine an imaginative image of an imagining hedgehog. Or you could just pretend, I imagine.

About half the size of the last one, and also looks a bit different, could it be a different breed?

Whoever said lots of water was bang on, these little pups go through water quicker than I go through coffee :eek:
