He was such a talented actor and I loved him as General Zod in those early superman films

Sad to read this, great actor.

My mates mum was his pen pal! This is many years ago (30 years+) and no idea if they were still in contact. Mate's mum knew i loved the Superman movies and showed me some of his letters, very mundane stuff, updates on his/her family that type of thing.

No idea how they met or how the pen pal thing started, but i always remembered that!
