Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [15th - 18th August 2025]

We need to improve RAPIDLY. That was a shambolic performance.

And loads of our hardest games are at the start, even if things click later if we lose too many in this run the chance of winning the PL will disappear.

plenty to be positive about. not the result i'd have wanted, obviously, but performances are continuing to improve. gk and cm are still shockingly weak.

Disappointed with that, but we were comfortably the better side throughout. An annoying goal to concede, and it's tough to come back against that level of timewasting too.

A huge improvement on last season either way, but it has to continue in the next few games. Reasons to be optimistic at least.

Well. We still have time to sign a new keeper.

Cunha, Mbuemo, Mount, Yoro all good. Dorgu had his moments. Fernandes off day.
Now we’re not going to break the bank for Baleba, I’d like to think we’d get Lammens and a midfielder of some description in. All in all, we played a lot more cohesively and it’s looking positive on the whole. As I said before the game, this was a big game that came too soon for us.

Thought Fernandes was decent. United's midfield ran the game which I absolutely did not expect. He was doing that running. He's not going to end up as far forward this season, and I doubt he'll score or assist as much as previously, but he looked far better in that deeper role than I thought he would

Did you watch Cities and Liverpool's opening games?

Yes and again only 1 game , you can't just judge a team or season after 1 game lol

do you not remember that united season You can't win anything with kids

I think when around 10 games are played will give better idea

United should be looking for 5th and maybe fight for 4th

100% - massive improvement in attitude, work rate etc - New players to bed in....

One shocker from the keeper cost us the 3 points - Better team on the day for sure but plenty of signs of improvement there.

Need to see that week in/ week out mind you.

Don’t you mean point? You have to score 1 more than Arsenal to get 3 points. You didn’t score at all.

True, our midfield was getting about.

I don’t think we’ll struggle with the weaker teams in the league as much, off this showing.

Mount, Cunha, Mbuemo looked so good, who do you drop to start Sesko?

I would also try to get Amad in the starting line up

Got to be careful when it comes to United and false dawns they often seemed to play well against the 'bigger' teams in previous seasons then **** the bed against Bournemouth, Brentford, Wolves etc. Got Fulham and Burnley next 2 games see if they carry the energy over into them.
