Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Weak statement tbf it’s just open.

I remember our statement for Countinho was a clear won’t be sold this summer etc
Don’t see it that way, reminds him he can go if the clubs terms are met and not before, puts the ball in Liverpool’s court, because unless you pay £150m, he ain’t leaving.

Love that last bit
Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates."

i.e when you've done throwing your toys around, feel free to let us know

I said a few pages back, awaiting the transfer request. Wanted to go so bad.... Why wait until.... What the last week ? Last day? To submit one. Like could have done it in January.

Of course would lose the loyalty bonus payment if he does that. Guess some things are just about money.
No idea why people keep banging on about handing in a transfer request. They only cost the player money with zero upsides. It doesn't change anything from the selling clubs obligations and it's already quite public that Isak wants to leave.

Handing in a transfer request is just stupid.

I hope we don’t, like I’ve already stated to me at least he isn’t worth what your asking

so what your saying Newcastle should just let him leave and pay him possibly up to £18m as a parting gift as well, rewarding his behaviour and attitude, don’t be so stupid.

If we were going to slap down 150 we would have done it already. He's not worth that, the saner members of the Newcastle fanbase know that, they'll either deal at 130 before the window closes or at 110 in January.

Mind you this whole thing could have been done and dusted months ago if newcastle had a modicum of professionalism :p

Thing is it’s not like he is in demand as I’ve not seen another club supposedly wanting him.

The losers here ultimately will be Newcastle.

We don’t pay up (I hope), no other club is in currently, he doesn’t wanna stay, value goes down next year and Newcastle lose out on money as then fans will turn to club saying should have sold etc so there dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t.

I actually feel sorry for Howe. Managers dealing with these stands off must be tiresome

Not if we don’t have 2 strikers in, if we don’t have that he’s going nowhere

hes not going to play for you again, his value will just continue to drop. the whole 2 striker thing would have made sense if he started week in week out. As it stands you have no money, an no striker..

Which means Isak stays and plays, how long do you think he will accept being fined 2 weeks wages on a weekly basis, for refusing to train and play?
That’s an Isak problem.

footballers aren’t exactly poor, if they invest wisely they probably could go a season being a dick.

I don’t think what he is doing is right btw, it just the football world and players have too much power. Been through this plenty of times when our players did it to get a move.

I’d happily miss out on Isak after all this tbh.

We do need an attacker though but I’d rather we move on.

Newcastle are the only losers here imo

And he ain’t going to play for you either, unless you meet our valuation and we get replacements

speaking of rats, see trent had a stinker in his league debut, hooked after 66 minutes. Not quite Woodgate levels but still a bag of ****

What I don't understand is why Newcastle fans are saying he's not going anywhere unless we get replacements in.. and then in the same breath.. let him rot in the reserves?

Shirley if you let him rot in the reserves, that's the same as selling him? as in he's not playing for you, so why does getting replacements in matter?

Also the club won't care what the fans want, if he's still a Newcastle player come the end of the window, and he agrees to rejoin the squad he will be playing, and when he is jeered by the fans (until he scores a winner against Liverpool!, and all is forgiven :) ) the club will ask the fans to lay off him, as he's a Newcastle player.

I agree with this...Newcastle are only damaging themselves at this point. Everything thats happening, even more so if we're talking rolling weekly fines on top, well...its hardly going to make Newcastle seem like the place to join if you're another player.

Isak possibly could have gone about things a bit better but there has to also be an acceptance that for most players Newcastle are not a destination team, they are a stepping stone to a destination team. If I was Newcastle I'd be saying to Liverpool drop 130m and you can have Isak, then go get Wissa for 60 and whatever other person it is they want, then release a statement to say they are happy that everything is now concluded to everyones satisfaction and that the club never wants to stand in the way of a players ambitions but the deal must always be appropriate blah blah etc, to not put off potential future signings. Job done, everyone happy, the world can continue turning again.

Whether Liverpool would or should pay 130m is a different question of course.
